I always try to use two phones, an IPhone and an Android phone, on a daily basis to compare and keep up. Now I am using this one, in the Porsche Design variant, which is exactly the same except it is uglier than the Mate 9 Pro (the "Porsche Design" logo is emblazoned across the top in huge letters and looks awful), but has twice the memory. It is an excellent device, the best Android phone I've ever used with the possible exception of my late-lamented Galaxy Note 7, with its very slightly better camera. The Mate 9 Pro and my iPhone 7 Plus seem exactly equal in terms of overall quality and capability. Each does some things better than the other. One serious problem with the Huawei having to do with switching between languages, seems to be local. The iPhone takes dictation in both English and Thai without any problem. The Huawei confuses them, mixing Thai words into English dictation and vice-versa. Sometimes the Thai words are obscenities, so I suspect hacking of the local service provider rather than a problem in the phone itself, but this never happens with the iPhone. The notification system on the Mate 9 Pro is better organised. For my uses (I'm not a gamer) both phones are equally fast, practically instantaneous in any application. The iPhone is water-resistant, the Mate 9 Pro isn't. Try to ignore the rants, "fortune cookie", etc that inevitable appear in comments columns like this. Most are written by 14-year-old fanboys who have never had their hands on the Mate 9 Pro or any other in its price range, and spend a lot of their time sitting around jerking off over specs printed in reviews.

Alien , 09 Feb 2017I don't know about you guys, buy in Europe if you're seen u... morePlease explain to me how is Huawei a chinese fortune cookie ? They have higher quality standards than any other manufacturer(military standards). Also their telecom hardware is used everywhere(because of quality and affordable prices compared with Alcatel, Nokia and Ericsson). See also collaboration with Leica (why is not Leica working with Samsung). I agree on their software , but they are improving. I see Huawei as one of the major players of 2017 in the smartphone market. Also not all the people are so shallow that they have to be seen with an IPhone or a Samsung blowing up phone.

I don't know about you guys, buy in Europe if you're seen using a chinese fortune cookie people laugh at you and think you're either too poor, either too greedy.
And speaking from a technical point, their OS sux, the software optimization is crap, there are no service centers and you can forget about software updates! I wonder how many phones they sell outside China and India frankly..
These are the only phones worth checking: http://m.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nRamMin=3000&nIntMemMin=32000&sFreeText=SnapDragon%20820&sAvailabilities=1&sIPCerts=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9&sOSes=2&sOSversions=2700,2710&idCardslot=1

Hybrid Asian, 09 Feb 2017Very curious about the audio output for wired headsets also. 0.3V for Mate 9. You are guaranteed to have 0.3V/2.0V=15% of the total volume from your amplifier. Fantastic (!) performance for a phone sold at iPhone7 Plus prices, right!?

This phone is single sim (Nano sim), dual sim Nano sim (dual stand by). So it has the two versions. But has no SD card slot. It's 64 - 4, and 128 - 6 gigabytes.
