Wow, this phone IS sexy! Just makes me want to buy it.
impressive 4g frequencies, doble (signal+) antenna - should get more signal than samsungs, has amoled screen, and, most importantly, the microsd card slot!!
HD resolution, 5Ghz wi-fi, and lack of fast charging is a big minus though.
still, this phone is sexy!!!

At least 3000mah battery is required these days. Other hardware specs are increasing like ram, processor, internal memory. But battery remains the same. Mate 7 sold out because of battery capacity. This phone will fail like Lenovo Vibe x2. Good looking and all but poor battery life.

Ordered a 64GB silver one from wondamobile. They say it will be shipped on Friday. Can't wait to try try it out! It is a little expensive at the moment so you may want to wait until price drops.

This Huawei Mate S just as the other Huawei P8 has one feature missing: 5Ghz wifi. Everything else is in, 32GB or more, LTE B20 (for users in Euroland), a decent screen, and so on. I sure like the design, the fact that they have a release in Europe, and high-end specs. That one 5GHz feature would make it the one device I could use for everything where I take it. But this way... inner cities are crowded with 2.4GHz wifi signals, and so this shows a lack of understanding of the market and puts it on par with many smaller companies that omit it for that little bit less investment. Must wait for a new Nexus device then.

Fouad, 14 Sep 2015One of reasons that makes me not buy Huawuei is the use of ... moreeven the standard version has 32 GB internal storage, they even offer for 64GB and (maybe) 128 GB version.. you expect 4000mAH battery on such sleek device with restricted space? 4000 mah battery might be possible if:
1)the phone itself must 6inch instead 5.5 like the ascend mate 7, or
2)the phone itself needs to be a bit thicker to give space to cram that 4000mah inside the phone.
If you want a phone with bigger battery, perhaps Lenovo phones could satisfies you

One of reasons that makes me not buy Huawuei is the use of SIM2 as memory card! why not have third slot for memory card with the 2 other SIMs!!!!
in addition to that the battery for 5.5 inch at least to be 4000mAH

AMOLED displays perform better than most of IPS except for the top notch like iPhone etc and AMOLED are mostly similar plus with great brightness and veiwing angles i just don't like the over saturated colors on AMOLED
