There is no logical reason why Huawei is switching to AMOLED now.
I used Huawei Mate 7 (perfect IPS LCD) and the battery is great.
Even if LCD display eats more battery than AMOLED , the difference
is minimal and not worth switching to. Even Samsung Note 4 (which supposedly brighter than Note 3) not as bright as Huawei Mate 7. Moreover every AMOLED is over saturated and not as natural as a high quality IPS LCD display.

The phone isn't called Mate 7S or Mate 8, and instead Mate S for a good reason. So stop the "downgrade" comparison with mate 7.

LCD display is not a good display for smartphone. There is one main problem with LCD which is it used up too much battery. Sony also aware of this problem as an article mention " the displays being LCD, they need to be lit up entirely whereas AMOLEDs could save some mAhs when kept in such a case". The article(from GSMarena) discussed the usage of a smart view casing for the smartphone-Z5 Premium. You can see that having AMOLEDs display give you more advantage in battery saving which also leads to the explanation of the reduce battery size too.

I fucking love the design 10/10 currently i am using Iphone 5s thinking for an upgrade i think this time i am gonna move with this phone .the only thing I hate in this phone Is Fingerprint location it should be in front .

Most of the features are the same compared to P8 and P8 lite, but the switch to Super Amoled is even worse. Huawei is disappoints me this time.

This just teases you of the mate 8 and huawei is taking down notes of what their customers want and what is to be improved based on this device, just wait a little bit longer it will be worth the wait...

I love the dimensions and the move to AMOLED.
I might be alone but with a 1080p display 2700maH is plenty, my s5 with 2800maH lasts far longer than I need (usually 3 days of moderate use). I'd rather have lighter device with reduced bezels than more battery than I need.

1) reducing display size from 6.0 to 5.5?
2) switching from a natural and bright LCD to over saturated and less bright AMOLED display? WHAT HAPPENED WITH HUAWEI?!
