Huawei Mate XT Ultimate tri-folding smartphone's shipment estimates rise to 1 million: Kuo
Huawei unveiled the Mate XT Ultimate last week as the world's first tri-folding smartphone. It is currently China-exclusive, and Huawei was expected to ship 500,000 units of the phone this year. However, popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's survey shows the forecast for the Mate XT Ultimate has been revised from 500,000 units to 1 million for 2024.
That's surprising considering the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate's eye-watering base price of CNY19,999, which translates to $2,830/€2,535/INR236,910 at current exchange rates.
It also remains to be seen whether this initial demand for the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate continues since there have been instances where the demand for Huawei's flagships dropped after their release. Not to mention the equally eye-watering repair costs of the Mate XT Ultimate, which could deter some from buying the tri-folding smartphone in the first place.
Anyway, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate will go on sale in China tomorrow, September 20, and the sales numbers could tell us whether or not Huawei will manage to ship a million units of its tri-folding smartphone this year.

so the regular foldable is bi-foldable? that's nonsense, folds should be counted how many times it folds, not how many states it can have
