the 3299 RMB #matepadmini Reader Edition has the Kirin 9010B (4 small cores , 2 big cores) instead of the Kirin 9010 (6 small cores, 2 big cores), anybody knows if it will be a big performance difference ?

Android and more powerful than Matepad Mini.
But I like the idea of a secondary device like a mini-tablet that can also be used as a phone. BTW I can put it in my sleevless vest which has a big inside pocket ...
But I need to test an unfolded folding device : is it easy to hold like a mini-tablet ? can I put it in my tablet holder in my old car to use it as a gps ?
(also the less squarish form factor of a mini-tablet is better to watch movies and probably better to read "wide websites")
Maybe I ll just wait for the MagicPad Mini, maybe it will come at a good price.

I doubt there will be many things that I miss, in fact it is the other way around...for example the cameras and being easier to carry.

btw the android app support on matepad mini (HarmonyOS Next 5.1) is not that bad according to youtube videos if you can tinker a little bit.
So I might be tempted by a matepad mini if I see a good real life review and if the price goes a little bit down in next month or so (can wait til the end of the year/beginning of next year ... cheapest I found so far was with voptronics at $700 + about $15 shipping to France)

This tablet is so light and has an OLED display. Might be the best mini tablet for reading and media consumption, right?

After hunting for a high-end mini Android tablet for about a year, I finally gave up. Manufacturers are charging twice for the mini tablet compared to a similarly speced full-size tablet, and don't get me started on these stupid non-GPS versions! What kind of nonsense is that? You rarely see mini Android tablets with SIM support. I found a good deal for an older Foldable model, which has tons more features and high-end specs, and I just went for it. Although I didn't like the unnecessary folding devices, for some reason, you can buy those with 10 times more sophisticated and expensive parts for cheaper than a mini Android!

because of the HarmonyOS Next issue it might be better to wait for the Honor MagicPad Mini or the OnePlus Pad 3 Mini ... hopefully they will have 5G too ...

Android apps must be run under emulators like EasyAbroad or DroidTong ... Not sure how well they run (I am interested in apps like Waze, WhatsApp ... would like the google playstore also ... )

in the youtube video "Huawei MatePad mini 8.8-inch tablet is compact tablet that can be held in one hand ultra-thin design" some images show "Harmony OS Next" ... so which one is that ? "Harmony OS Next" or HarmonyOS 5.1 ? I read that there is no android app support on Harmony OS Next ...

Which would be fine but if the chinese price of this tablet is really around 450 to 480 euro IN CHINA, then if they ever bother to release it here it will be at least 700 to 750 euro.
Y700 Gen 4 makes more sense then, even if you are the biggest OLED fan out there the Huawei is not worth it, Lenovo has a good IPS.
And of you really must have a OLED, just get a bigger tablet that is barely much more too.
