Kirin 960 yet the maximum video recording capability is just 1080p? Is it even 60fps? Huawei P10 Plus with the same exact SoC can do both 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps.

AnonD-699935, 22 Nov 2017first time i saw the specifications, i thought its SNAPDRAG... moreLol Kirin 960 is better. It was once a flagship SoC that competed (and mostly defeated) with the SD820 and 821 of 2016. It was neck-and-neck with the Apple A10 Fusion, which was also a flagship SoC.
16nm it may be, it doesn't really get that hot, and the extra power is all well worth it (more than twice the benchmark scores and RAW power of those SoC's you've mentioned).

While Kirin 960 was made of 16nm because it's processed at TSMC and TSMC's current technology is at 16nm (7nm is incoming) however, the newer Kirin 970 is also built at 16nm. Beside, Kirin 960 comprises of Octacore while SD 820 is Quadcore.
