Huawei Pocket 3 is launching next week as an "unexpected product"
Huawei will unveil the Pocket 3 next week, according to the company's Richard Yu. While he hasn't named the model, he did promise an "unexpected product" launching, and the first one to run Huawei's Android-free HarmonyOS Next, which was announced last year.
Meanwhile, Digital Chat Station on Weibo reiterates what we should expect from the Pocket 3 - a very different form factor, with a 6.28" inner folding screen sporting a 3:2 aspect ratio, a 3.48" cover display, a 50 MP main camera, as well as a water and dust resistance rating of some sort. The phone should also have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
The Pocket 3 has previously been described as a smaller iPad mini when unfolded, and it looks like Huawei is embracing interesting new form factors and trying to experiment with them to see what the next big thing is. The Pocket 3 will, from this experimentation point of view, nicely complement the Mate XT in the company's portfolio.
