diztinger, 18 Apr 2024What does retractable lens do exactly? It's purpose is to make enough space between sensor and lense and to decrease overall thicknes of the phone. It doesn't have any zooming capabilities. That's why there's zoom lese.

CameraGuy, 18 Apr 2024Its always bad sign when company only tell size of main cam... moreIt would be okay if the tele is a IMX858, since it's basically the miniatuized version of the main IMX989 camera sans the RYYB color filter. The 40MP camera on the other hand is a mystery just like last year.

They left global markets and unfortunately, I don't see high chances of the Pura 70 series getting an international release

The only thing that taints this phone is that garbage optical fingerprint reader! but it's understandable in this case, they can't carry Qualcom's ultrasonic* but I think Huawei is officially back in the game with this

Its always bad sign when company only tell size of main camera sensor but for rest (tele/wide) they only tell you the amount of megapixels.
That usually mean its some kind of microscopic 1/2.5" sensor which lacks dynamic range and hardly even have support for RAW photos :(
That 5cm close range focus for 90mm telecamera sounds crazy after Xiaomi 75mm with 10cm focus.

The 1" sensor with variable aperture alone already sold me to this phone. This is easily the closest rival to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

so can someone tell me which maximum total optical
zoom and maximum digital zoom are both better in d
hua wei p40 pro plus or the hua wei pura 70 pro plus
as iam planning to buy either one really soon brother
?
of course i prefer them to be best in all three areas
which are the optical + digital zoom + super slo mo
!
wouldnt mind the slower charging speed and the rest
on the p40pro plus though as they r not in my priority
!

P50/Mate50 were the low point of Huawei, with the P60 they recovered, the Mate 60 reintroduced 5G and was a great allrounder, and now this feels like the first Huawei since 2020 that actually has a very strong selling point. While I'm not a massive fan of how this phone looks, it's the only phone right now that has a 1" sensor, (also great battery and good charging) while being reasonably thin and doesn't have that Xiaomi-Ultra-Style camera bump we see everywhere now. We did have the Xiaomi 13 Pro last generation, but Xiaomi 14 Pro now has the smaller sensor.

David 040882, 18 Apr 2024Either that or GSMArena is still waiting for the full specs... moreFair enough, we'll wait. NM or expandable storage in flagship territory is the reason that I still want either a Huawei or Sony Xperia.
