I am using Ideos since 3 days as my 2nd phone (got it from Zong). I have a HTC Desire and I have used HTC Hero too.
For people who are planning to buy it, please dont hesitate, just go for it. Its an excellent phone. Its specs and performance is comparable with Hero.
The only issue which you will learn to overcome with time is the small screen; virtual keyboard is small to type sms or email in portrait view but to type in landscape view is perfect.
It is faster than my expectation, all software available for Froyo is compatible, There are no Zong Logos on phone or shown during startup (but it is carrier locked).
Camera result is not good indoors, but quite good outdoors (in sun light).
You cannot get a better Android phone in Rs16000/-

Hi,
I bought this phone on Oct 28 here in Pakistan. Its pretty responsive. Screen is bright but bit low res. i have'nt been able to figure out how to install flash on it. Installed Astro. Looked for Skype in Market but could'nt find it so downloaded the .apk of it and installed that way - now i can login to Skype but it crashes soon as i select a contact. So i did a little googling and found out that Skype for Android requires atleast 600MHz CPU as well as 480x320 res screen. IDEOS does not have either.
Other than that its a great smartphone. browsing is quick, plays all music and video formats (yxplayer) ofcourse not high res videos. So far i have not been able to do any VoIP. However Googles appz work swell. Maps, Lattitude, GTalk all work as well as on a much more expensive phone. Facebook too works A-1, however facebook videos dont work so far. YouTube works fine. All things considered its a great deal at this price!
Now if only i could unlock it!

but the Xperia X8 have some 128Mb or so amount of ram (you won't find it in any spec site but forum & blogs). and if SE hops it'll function & do multitasking, IDEOS looks to be its boss by specs, at least.

The specs don't say how much system RAM the phone has for running apps. This is a critical part of the spec. It will need a minimum to 256MB to function well. Any less and it will be seriously constrained, like the HTC Magic 32B or HTC G1 running Froyo...and they only have 192MB of RAM.

Its the chepst phone i hv ever seen til now, running froyo
but is it really capable of running all droid app without any prob I'm nt compairing it with xperia or optimus series.

@Bunty.....i personally hvnt used idoes but android 2.2 froyo gives u the option to install apps on memory card...its something that is available by default in froyo so im almost sure in ideos u will b able to install apps on memory card

hhh, 26 Oct 2010where os it available in 12 k in pak manzong is giving in 16k but actual price is 12k, wait for it to come in market unlocked

I like this little unit, really good power behind it with its price. I look for its videos and reviews and from them of course it is not X10 or Driod or stuff like that but it is pretty good in its own skin.
On the note, I haven't have mine but really want to get a quick hand-on of this unit. If friends in Karachi who have get their handsets can help me out with that or hook me up with one directly from Zong.
Also whatever I learn about this set so far I put things over here along with some videos so do check those out at following address.

Amazing product for the price, i am quite impressed, the only downside is the poor screen resolution,
decent battery life, about 24 hours on a full charge, with everything running, BRILLIANT free APP store, download almost anything from the android APP site
the interface / GUI is very smooth, almost zero lag, build quality is also almost at par with the best sets ,
MY only gripe is the low quality screen resolution

a 600 mhz of cortex a8 so you cant get adobe flash 10.1 on huawei ideos
