The U8300 is turning out to be a great little phone.
Android 2.3.5 has been now been ported to the little guy and at $50 (AUD) price it's a bargain (perhaps even cheaper than one of those USB modems, plus this phone can tether!). See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091159 for 2.3.5.

Guys, this is a really good phone (especially for someones first phone) no it dosnt compare to the iphone but I got it for 50dollars and its worth it!! It comes with everything in the description above!! For the more expirienced uses tho, I have a question; I'm having trouble with my wallpaper, I wanna use my pictures of me and my friends from my sd card, however when I try to set the pics as wallpaper it makes me crop the picture and it will only let me crop to a certain size that I will be lucky to get 1quater of the pic in the cropped area? How do i fix this to allow me to have the full pic as my wallpaper?

i got mine yesterday.. this is the best qwerty android phone ever. because its cheap, and so cute.. and most of all, not common phone. sorry for my bad english im a caveman. :)))))

this phone is cute, its loud, and very fun and easy to use.
the only problem and annoying thing about it is the processor.
i find that i write an SMS and by the time i've finished typing-- the phone itself has to catch up on my words because its so slow.
an updated version of this phone would be off the hook.
other than that, its pretty slow, and the wireless doesnt pick up signal that easily unless your right next to a modem.
purchased in august 2011.
