Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro in for review

Michail, 19 May 2022

The latest flagship smartwatches from Huawei are in and they bring top-notch build quality, enough health and activity tracking features to keep even the most demanding users satisfied as well as price tags to match. We’ve got both 46mm titanium GT 3 Pro and the smaller 43mm ceramic unit on hand so let’s take a quick look at their key features.

As is the norm with Huawei’s GT series watches - build quality is excellent and you immediately notice that as soon as you unbox them. The titanium body and strap and the sapphire glass screen on the 46mm GT 3 Pro feel solid, premium and reassuring. This is a big watch weighing 55 grams and may look a bit odd on people with smaller wrists. The 1.43-inch round AMOLED screen is large enough for most use cases though we can’t help but mention the thick surrounding bezel.

The nanocrystalline ceramic body and strap on the 43mm model are quite impressive and feel comfortable and solid on the wrist. The 1.32-inch AMOLED on here is also covered with sapphire glass and you get a golden accent surrounding the watch face and crown element.

People with smaller wrists will appreciate the more compact form factor though the white and gold colors will not fit with every style. Both GT 3 Pro watches feature butterfly lock mechanisms and come with spare links in the box.

The 46mm GT 3 Pro is a big watch.

Navigating the watches is primarily done via the touchscreen though you can also use the crown element and side button. HarmonyOS 2.0 covers the software side and runs smoothly while supporting third-party apps. Health tracking promises the usual mix of heart rate and blood oxygen measurements alongside sleep and stress measurements. The more fancy ones include ECG (not available in our market) and arterial stiffness detection as well as a body temperature measurement.

Both Watch GT 3 Pro devices come with onboard microphones and speakers for taking calls. Other notable features include NFC (again market dependant), dual-band GPS and dive-proof rating which should reassure even the most adventurous types. Watch GT 3 Pro 46mm is rated at two weeks of battery life with normal use while the smaller 43mm gets a seven-day estimate. We will make sure to test out those claims alongside all the other key features in our full review.
