The last i kmow from Huawei web, they will not update this Y Max model to V9 OS, yes very sad for this great phone. I used this phone over 4 years and no have any issue..
Maybe they not want update they emui to OS V9 for this model of becouse marketing strategy, maybe they hope we will buy other Huawei latest model, so they will make more giant profit for they brand, as normally the brand new and latest model phone, the tag price more expensive than they older "high end" model.
... the OLDER high end model (5 years ago model like Y Max) now in 2024 the price very cheap than the 1st time they launching. What happen if this model can update android OS v9 or v11 (?) then people just buy on they high end older model only with cheap lower price for new set Y Max? What will happen on they latest model? $$$$? The new latest cheap entry level model will 30% abandoned by buyers, the cleaver genius buyers like me will focus and buy on they OLDER high end model only in 2024.
So, that why they don't want give update emui os on they older model, when my Y Max can't install app that just support emui OS V9, so i no choise to use that app on my Y Max, so i need to buy other they latest model that have OS V9 higher.. But if i try to force install OS V9, i will face same problem with you, and need to downgrade the Emui OS or just buy they new latest model only huhuhu.. Totally ass#hole marketing strategy :P

When the phone starts up, it reboot repeatedly. (doesn't go to home screen) took it to dealer they said motherboard failed.

Got this phone in 2021 . I got update to android 9 by emui 9.0 but after the update Google service and CH play stop working. And there no way I can install it in . So I'm have to downgrade it back to android 8 emui8 to keep having Google service. Mine version brought in china mainland . Only that cons ,it's is working alright 😔😔🙂

i hav huawei yMAX . EMUI 8.2 ANDROID 8.1.
No call recorder option.
No floating dock - like other huawei pones.
Anyone knows whats the solution?

Superb internal storage and bettery life compare to price. Amazing screen to watch films. used more than one year, still best bettery life...

Huawei Y Max is very good. It is a big enough to play game. It is not expensive.
I have used it more than one year. It has no problem item of everything. In a word
it saves time and save money.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2020Is it just me or this phone is realy big and imbosible to p... moreWell it is 7.1" but not really a tablet coz the home screen doesn't have a "landscape" only mode. It might be hard to handle at times, but the size is perfect for gaming and streaming so I have no complaints.

The hefty update comes with 3 new apps pre-installed to the phone. "Ride Mode" which is uninstallable. The other two are "Kwai" and "Lazada" which you can uninstall BUT they reappear once you reboot your phone. I find it very annoyingly intrusive. It feels like a pay-once-to-play game going adware--they're totally scr*win' us over.

Only Security update, ARS-L22 8.2.0.157 (C636) 2.76GB, No update to Android Pie, What a shame! =(
