Your Money Down the Drain.
PROS:
Aluminum Body.
Large Touchscreen.
Windows
Affordable
CONS:
Windows 2003 SE is just about as bad as Win 98. Win 2005 is impeccable.
You will need to hard-reset at least once every two weeks.
iMATE service sucks. Their service is handled by third parties who are always looking to make an extra buck.
Personal Experience:
My Jam had a loose connection It came back from service bruised and dented. Over the next two service attempts, the service guys removed some parts and replaced them with used-defective ones.
Desperate calls to imate Dubai have been of no use.
I've contacted their Countrywide Sales Manager, Countrywide Service manager and a whole lot of middlemen.
From what I gather from my colleagues at work, they too have had a bad experience with this PDA.
Anything else is better.

I have had one for more than 6 months. It came with everything you need including a half leather case(very stylish).
It has a fast processor of 416mhz and can run "The Core Media Player"(TCMP) perfect and even then some. I was able to play a 512x384 video clip with no choppiness what so ever and visual quality is excellent.
I have ordered a 2gb Memory card and will see whether I can get gps navigation going on it. I'm not entirely sure if you can use gps software on this without having a sdio gps reciever but I will check it out anyway.

so i was wondering im thinking of selling off my nokia 7710 and buying this imate. can anyone tell me if that is wise. i can see that the imate is much faster but how is the music qaulity on this fone and the internet? and can u set the mp3 as a ringtone?

i think that this should be considered one of the best pocket pc's ever even though it has some flaws. i will get this fone in 2 weeks!!!

i lost my i mate jam sound its on vibrate mode all i can do is make and recive calls.
cant hear message tones and ringtones..buttt wen i put my handfree i can hear everything on it on my handfree sounds and every how do i bring my sound back i even formated my imate???????

overall i-mate is a good mobile device but i can not find good softwares like answering machine , mcafee antivirus , dictionary etc and i do not want to go to club i-mate as they ask for $50 for membership so any site which has this stuff !

hi i tried the phone its faster than JAMin and k-jam the processor is 400mhz but the other is 200 mhz its prroblem over those phone that it doesb't WiFi but u can bay Sandisk WiFi card and but it in memory card slot but still camera problem is very bad and has no zoom or i could't figure how to zoom but its easy to use and the problem is batter 2 when it go of u'll lose all yr memory and sometimes i had problems with bluetooth i can't use it and the phone become worm in long phone calls but over all i think its better than other i mate product except the new JASJAM it solved all its problems but its so expensive so i guess jam is a good phone to buy comparing features and prices so just buy it + WiFi card (from ebuy) + 1GB memory card and u'll enjoy it just put the WiFi when u need it other wise put the Memory card another thing i remembered the battery cover always come off ... u just bring a good cover for the device that will solve this problem too

This is to everyone who doesn't like programs to stay in memory after you close them.
You can install the software SPB Pocket Plus. This software changes the behaviour of the programs' close button so it really shuts down your programs. It has other cool features too. Look it up in google and check it out. CYA!

Hi! I mate users... like others I love this mobile and after using this mobile i can't use anyother... but.. i talked one time 72 minutes and other time 55 mintues and since then i got dizziness and fainting and very strange feelings about brain. felt like brain is not stable and now i didn't use this for the last 5 days and now i am Ok.. i doubted... and again now when i receive any call from this mobile even for 1 minute i feel like abnormal in my brain.. but with other phones i don't get any such feelings. i remember that with alcatel i got same feelings once and i changed...
Pls.. i request to take care while using this mobile as it has very dangerous microwaves... pls let me know if some one feeling same.......THANKS... but i still love this mobile even i m planning to purchase now motorla v3x...

Dr Emad Darwish. You can download the latest operating system from the club.imate.com. I hope that will solve your problem. But do have a backup copy of all the documents.
And for Updating the operating system in JAM.i wonder what will happen if you install XP on Pentium 1. Iam talking about the performence. Ofcourse the Jam harhware does not support WM5.

I have using this handset since Feb-06.It is fabulous.I work in a mobile phone company & i use to change my mobile phone twice in a month. But since i bought this machine, believe me you dont ask anything more.The most interesting thing to have such handsets is that u get to have the full & free operating system updates from imate website. So no worries about the software or warranty.

My i-mate change the date to special date And suddenly no ring as silent their are some files (sms) can not deleted in window directory I think that having virus what I can do?

Ok i just had to get on here and let everyone know, how amazing this phone is. i love it so much i cant even belive it. it does so much and everyone in the usa is like oh my gosh thats the coolest phone ever. I just got a 2gb card and yeah its a beautiful thing. i love this phone alot.

It's a good phone ! but there r few matter's with it .camera is bad and it can't play DAT video files .i am using this phone from 2 year's !but the size is matter (with the cover ).if u can upgrade it to 1GB MMC card ,it seem's Great !!

cover is loooose, battery is loooose, always power offff ,when you restarts, you have go reginoal settings, if we store more files in main memory, hangs lots, always reload to storage card and keep main memory empty to avoid hangovers.i do not like this .....
