This is the worse phone I have ever used. The initial week after getting the phone, I got it replaced as there was a problem with its blue tooth.
I got a DOA from IMATE and got it replaced. Only 3 days after getting the replacement phone it has now got a touch screen problem.
Got to know that this is a common issue with all IMATE JAMA phones.
BE CAUTIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one awesome phone at its price. It has all the features a basic PDA user would need. The processor is faster than many of its competetors, sound quality is good, volume is mind blowing for a smartphone. The only negatives are the absence of WiFi and slow bluetooth. The navigation keys are a bit difficult to handle sometimes, but who needs them when you got a touch screen!! Ideal phone for first time smartphone users.

I am facing a stange problem with my imate JAMA. If the battery runs out of charge it does not resart after I put it to charge nor does it charge. I need to go back to the vendor and get it force charged to put it back in action. When I wrote to thier contact on thier site. there response wasnt justifiable. After sales service here in India sucks. Every thing is in Mumbai.
Picture qulaity on photos is also not so great.
Bluetooth connectivity is hopeless. (slow)
I cant make the Contacts appear with First Name first and then second name
For the guys who asked some questions above.
No there is No Infrared, Wi5, FM radio and 3G on this model
Yes its does support most softwares made for pocket PCs

Jama is a good phone but with poor conectivity, losses tower very soon so voice get discarded.Even saving phone number from call register is poor in exsisting contacts,do get hanged up sometimes and useing blue tooth tooth is bit complicated matter.
Windows version is good,Size, apperance is good but cannot say it's very user friendly like NOKIA.

- iMate Jama – Review

In the “…global fast growing smartphone markets”, comes yet another Windows mobile phone called the iMate Jama. The handset is an entry level, basic handset, and comes powered with the capacity of Window Mobile 5.0 PDA phone. Which mean the phone is just apt for anyone who is looking out for basic Windows Mobile phone to stay connected and organized.
The iMate Jama comes dressed smartly in complimentary colour. There is a subtle magnetism about it, as if iMate Jama has been wrapped with the secret of corporate ‘power dressing’. Unlike our usual encounters with heavy smartphones, this handset is light and compact – making the device extremely portable.
The front fascia of the mobile is dominated by a large 2.4 QVGA touchscreen. Since the phone lacks QWERTY keypad, the touchscreen display is used for the input. The screen is of good resolution, and poses no difficulty when reading texts, messages etc. There are also short cut buttons under the screen for instant access to applications.
The iMate Jama is a dual-band (900/1800MHz) GSM/GPRS handset. Which means the handset offers seamless connection, no matter which part of the world you are in. This will prove extremely beneficial feature for people who are always on a go. Besides, for wireless connectivity, the iMate Jama comes with Bluetooth v1.2 connectivity running a 300 MHz Samsung processor. Another ’smart’ feature of the phone is that the iMate Jama memory receives 128 MB ROM, 64 MB ROM, and removable microSD memory. This suffices the requirement of all those storage of files, data etc.
Other notable features of i-Mate Jama are – a 2.0 MP of camera, and the usual i-mate applications like the i-mate Profile Controller and i-mate Media Control Panel. There also comes a complete set of Windows Mobile 5.0 applications. An impressive mobile indeed, the iMate Jama is a treat for anyone who wants power in the most affordable package.
