I just bought the jasjam, all good but can't seem to find anywhere if it is possible and/or how to set message tones apart from the boring default ones. It is a pain to set ringtones to. apart from that it is really good.

I have had it 3 weeks now and after having a very good experience with my O2 XDA mini - I have to say this is less of a smooth sailing start:
1) It is terribly slow - and I am willing to be patient in exchange for functionality - unlike general users
2)On the first synch it took the "+" out of a lot of phone numbers (inexplicable how it did this in a random way). I have over 5000 numbers on my database - this is a hassle- because it means you cannot make a phonecall unless you edit the number first.
3)It freezes so often, on different ocassions with different applications. At one point the screen had a pink haze over it when freezing
4)Headset is usb-not the generic jack-not practical
5)Keyboard commands do not work - randomly - and very important ones - like the back button or the enter button.
6)Virtual Keyboard dissappears: This is a real nuisance - keyboard actually moves outside your screen parametres with a third of the keyboard not available. Have to turn off the phone to get it to return to its normal place.
7)Hard Freeze: Everything locks up and you can leave it for 6 hours and cannot turn it off nothing. Only option is to take the battery out of the back and restart that way.
I hope these things are going to go away - like they occurred only in the beginning for ssome of the other posters here.
If they don't - I will bring back the device- a real pity considering that this Jasjam is sspecially HHSDPA enabled for Telstra Australia and running on the 3.5G NextG nnetwork here in Australia:-(

Can any one tell me if this new model from Imate, Jasjam is compatible with Apple Mac G4 laptops. Can i use the jasjam as a GPRS modem to surf on my my Apple Mac G4 laptop ? Also can i sync my entourage and Address book with my laptop? Please let ME know if any one is using a Jasjar or jasjam with a Apple mac Laptop?

Had this for 2 weeks now. I really like it, although it seems a little slow on pda functions sometimes. Had to do a few soft resets the first week when programs seemed to freeze, but it has been fine since then. Much better voice dialling than my previous phone. No synch probs. Keyboard great for texting and notes. Love that fact that it charges with usb connection. Did not like the stock case that came with it though, bought a leather flip case from ebay. Overall, I am pleased I got it. (must admit I haven't really pushed it hard application wise as yet).

With this unit can you use other functions while you are on the phone. Eg, can you make and appointment for someone while you are talking to them?

To NightMare . Can you please tell me if videos play smooth on the jasjam and I don't meen 3gp I meen avi divx and ogg. I'm using a program called TCPM. It works well with super jam and the older i-mate phones but not with the crapy k-jam and jamin please help me NightMare thank.

After a 2-week searching period between all brands and models, I have bought a JASJAM.
features, design, and performance seem to be the best so far. I am using it now for 20 days. no problems at all.
note: your device is your baby,,,treat it right, it will function very well.
by the way: I have no problem with screen allignment at all so far and the speed is ok.

you guys dont know a thing about i-mate. you talk about every thing but the VIDEO PLAYING PROBLEM with the {200mhz k-jam and the 200 mhz jamin} dos the jasjam hav the same problem? all the older i-mate's are working fine with video please help me. I want to buy the jasjam oh great i-mate king I know your out there .ps I know the jasjam is 400 mhz but I want to be sure that it dosent hav the same problem as the crapy good for nothing k jam and jamin thank you.

Hi, ive heard that a new verson of Windows Mobile is coming out, code named "crossbow" , my question is , when that comes out will it be possible to install it onto the Jasjam ???
i hope some one can help me regarding this, its urgent.

i got JASJAM 1 month ago...
its great in general except one thing; i need to align the screen at least 5 times a day!!
i really start to hate anything related to 'windows' :(

Recently I have bought the i-mate JASJAM.I wanted to know whether I van install CALL RECAORDER AND VOICE RECORDER,CALL BLOCK SOFT WEARS to this.If so,pl.inform the procurment & instalation details,cost etc.Pl.also infrom whether I can protect MS OFFICE files with my personal OASSWORDS.Your early reply is apprecited.

fone fanatic Iam trying to decide between the p990 and the jasjam. I like the p series for ease in making calls(it has the numerical pad).You mentioned the slideout keypad not good for making calls on the jasjam. Ive used the xda(same virtual keypad as the jasjam) and found the virtual kepad not easy to dial numbers compared to the p9 series. This is important to me as most of my calls are made while I'm driving. Otherwise the jasjam would be ideal.

Hey is this a better fone tht the k jam.. i had faced big problems with the allingment of the screen of the k jam. i hope this wont happen with this phone too?
