good phone but the only problem battery....daily 2 tmes i want to charge...difficult..

I also saw it in Sharaf DG...its a nice fone and avaliable for 749 AED
I was using an HTC P3400...the only option i missed there was Wi Fi.
I have it in here.

I bought this device in Dubai and one month later it was dead. I dropped it on the floor and the screen got damaged. It is very very sensitive. In comparison, my other phone (Nokia) is being treated very widely by my little baby, but still active and powerful, the same for my wife's mobile (S. Ericsson)

I bought my imate 8502 last month and have loved it ever since. Upgraded the ROM to offiial 6.1 release and tweaked the settings a lil to increase battery life. Though at times it requires a soft reset, the phone is sturdy and stable most of the times.
By far its better than HTC touch!!

Ali, 17 Mar 200846 hours on GPRS, no WiFi 31 hours on HSDPA, GPS on, no Wifii gt dis imate 8502 recently.it ws workn wid one of ma sim cards until one day it suddenly stops accepting calls n sms into it........despite having a considerable sim range........cn nebody temme y is it so......

my imate ultimate doesnt have enough memory so i opted to buy a 2gb memory but i tried to insert it but is not doing anyhthing. i want enough storage for the phone but i cant be able to install

This is by far the worst phone I ever owned. It was a special offer half pric e so I bought it, first of all, it is very very slow its not funny. 2nd thing, I used to get random crashes, 3rd and most importantly, if I enable multi language support, lets say ARABIC & ENGLISH, I will not be able to enter any password in any password field while using Internet Explorer, So i udpated to Windows Mobile 6.1 as adviced by imate but no luck, I have to disable multi language support to be able to type a password, which is really very annoying coz you have to restart the whole phone to do this. and I need arabic as I live in Dubai. I had many fights/arguments with imate until they finally refunded the phone although I had used it for 3 months. NEVER EVER buying an i-mate in my life anymore.

I have purchase this as a new but I always has some or other problem and every time I have to do Master clear to reset the device. The big problem is wid its software lots of things has been put on this device but witout proper softwares.

Just turn off your 3G from network and allow only GSM network.
3G network sucks battery power because of high frequency. On the other hand GSM utilize low frequency.
Turn off 3G network practice will let your mobile stay more days.

wait.. i forgot something and unfortunately i cant edit my previous post.
my imate 8502 is now dressed with silicon case.
imho, silicon case is a must have accessories for gadget w/ qwerty keyboard. sil-case will protect your gadget from and collision and worn-out caused by your hand.
since 8502 is very rare, then i cant find suitable sil-case. i tried, i tried and i found that sil-case for BB Storm is fit to 8502. just need a little adjustment in keyboard and battery socket.

Great gadgets!!!!
never had touch-screen, full-qwerty, 360 jog-dial, and scroll wheel, all attached in one gadget.
though it's keyboard smaller than BB, but it's still comfortable, no slip.
since i was non-WM user, i got disappointed with battery-life. but when i share to WM community, then i must accept the condition that winmos is battery drainer. fortunately i have portable power supply so that i can recharge this gadget easily without finding wall-electric-socket.
another cons point is about design. since this gadget is not popular, it is very difficult to find suitable accessories such as screen protector, casing, battery, etc.

this is the most phone-looking pda mobile today.
not like those keyboardless pda that looks like a fashion phone rather than a smart phone.
this has a decsent look of being a pda phone. an example of a real smartphone:) definitely buy this, wait me up imate 8502, im gonna get you this year!

G, 12 May 2008I am in the US and I recently purchased this phone. I am on... moreI have the 6150 model and I have the same problem. Insert sim card but it unable to locate the network and network. The helpdesk reckoned it is a fault with the phone so I am sending it to the service center.

To all of those who are having battery life problems, hanging problems and other related issues, please upgrdae to Windows Mobile 6.1 by downloading the official ROM released from Imate website. It will take only 15 minutes for the whole process.
All your problems will be solved.
