Infinix Hot 50 4G unveiled with Helio G100 chipset, 6.78" FHD+ IPS LCD
At the beginning of the month, Infinix announced the 5G-enabled Hot 50. Now, the company is bringing a more affordable 4G variant that has the same design, but differs in a few key specs.
The Infinix Hot 50 4G is powered by the Helio G100, which replaces the Dimensity 6300. This limits connectivity to a 4G modem, but performance should be quite similar as both chips are fabbed on a 6nm node and use the same CPU and GPU cores. The G100 is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 128GB or 256GB storage (UFS, version unknown). The card slot can accept microSD cards up to 2TB.
Modem aside, the Hot 50 4G actually brings some upgrades. The IPS LCD now measures 6.78” and has FHD+ resolution, up from 6.7” HD+. Both panels run at 120Hz and have an Always On Display mode. Both use a side-mounted fingerprint reader too.
The 4G model has a 50MP camera on the rear, which has a brighter f/1.6 lens but a smaller 1/2.76” sensor (vs. f/1.8, 1/2.0”). Both are capable of recording 1440p video at 30fps or 1080p at up to 60fps. The selfie camera is the same at 8MP.
Both phones are powered by 5,000mAh batteries with 18W charging over USB-C. The battery is rated to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 cycles (that’s four years of daily charging).
By the way, Infinix claims that you can play FreeFire for nearly 9 hours on a single charge. The game also supports 90fps mode on the Hot 50 4G with 120Hz touch sampling rate.
The 4G model has basic dust and water resistance, but Infinix isn’t quoting a concrete IP rating (the 5G version has IP54). In addition to the USB-C, there is also a 3.5mm headphone jack with an FM radio receiver. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth. The 4G model also has NFC, which is lacking from the 5G phone.
Infinix Hot 50 4G in Sleek Black, Sage Green and Titanium Gray
The Infinix Hot 50 4G is already available in some countries. One store in Ukraine has put a UAH 6,800 price tag on it (which converts to $165/€150/₹13,850). The phone is available in several colorways including Sleek Black, Sage Green and Titanium Gray.

I doubt it will get any Android update, but software updates might come for 1 or 2 years. Infinix gives Android updates for Note, Zero and GT series.

The era of basic phones with 3 useable/good cameras is long gone, unfortunately.
