iPhone 17 Air dummy unit stars in new hands-on video

Apple is launching the iPhone 17 Air alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max this September, and we've already heard a lot about its first entrant into the ultra-slim smartphone category.

We've even seen iPhone 17 Air dummy units before, but it can't hurt to take a look at another one, right? Right. So, here's a hands-on video with a black iPhone 17 Air dummy unit, once again showcasing its design and extreme thinness.

The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be 5.5mm or 5.65mm thin, rumors haven't exactly agreed on the exact number so far. Whichever it is, it will be impressively thin for sure - and light too at 145g. And it has to be, in order to get you to overlook the tiny 2,800 mAh battery and the sole rear camera, both sacrifices that had to be made in order to reach that slim profile.

Otherwise, the iPhone 17 Air should have 12GB of RAM just like the Pro and Pro Max, a 120 Hz refresh rate screen, and it might be the only model in the iPhone 17 family to have traces of titanium in its frame, as the Pro and Pro Max are now rumored to switch back to aluminum after a few years of experimentation with stainless steel and titanium.

Precisely, it's so old it predates USB-C even being available on consumer devices, and yet despite being thinner and having more features the battery isn't that much smaller despite missing out on the last 11 years of battery technology. ...
