iPhone Air teardown showcases more of its intricate internal design
Remember JerryRigEverything’s iPhone Air durability test? Well, that same device, which the host Zack bent using an engine hoist with over 97kg (216lbs) of pressure, got the teardown treatment.
Apple iPhone 17 Air
The back of this snapped iPhone is fairly easy to remove – all you need is some heat, a prying tool and the removal of two pentalobe screws. The interior is primarily occupied by the metal-enclosed 3,149mAh battery, and we can see the MagSafe magnets and copper coils, which facilitate wireless charging.
The screen is held down by a hefty amount of glue as well as a tri-point screw and two ribbon cables.
Back to the other side, where the battery is held in place by the same electrically releasing adhesive as the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Once the special tab on the battery is activated with the correct voltage, the pull-tabs release the battery.
iPhone Air motherboard and USB-C port
We then get a good look at the key components like the motherboard, cameras and the fancy titanium 3D-printed USB-C housing. Check out the full video below.

The only joke is your inability to comprehend. Apple specifies 27 hours of video playback on a single charge. Can your LG with it's "larger battery" do that?
