iQOO Neo8 Pro debuts Dimensity 9200+ chipset, Neo8 tags along
The vivo-owned iQOO brand held a big launch event in China where we saw the debut of the iQOO Neo8 series, iQOO Pad and TWS Air Pro earbuds. The Neo8 series comes in two variants with the iQOO Neo8 and the Neo8 Pro which debuts MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9200+ chipset.
Dimensity 9200+ features a Cortex-X3 prime core clocked at 3.35Ghz alongside 3x Cortex-A715 Big cores humming at 3.0GHz and 4x Cortex-A510 Little cores at 2.0GHz. MediaTek's new SoC also packs an ARM Immortalis G715 GPU and managed to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Geekbench 6 benchmarks so it will be interesting to see how the two stack up in real-world tests.
Dimensity 9200+ also brings Wi-Fi 7 connectivity as well as support for up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage to the Neo8 Pro model. The engineers behind the phone also added a massive 5002 mm2 vapor chamber to help keep thermals in check.
The regular iQOO Neo8 gets a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Both phones share the same 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1260x2800px resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Neo8 Pro brings a fancier 50MP Sony IMX 866 sensor on its main cam with OIS alongside an 8MP ultrawide module. Neo8 features a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS and a 2MP depth sensor. Both new phones also get the added benefit of the vivo V1+ ISP.
The software side is covered by OriginOS 3 based on Android 13 and both phones feature 5,000 mAh batteries with 120W fast wired charging.
iQOO Neo 8 starts at CNY 2,299 ($325) for the 12/256GB trim and goes up to CNY 2,899 ($410) for the 16/512GB version.

The software is usually buggy which you can't just fix with ADB and these phones don't get much custom ROM support either.
