iQOO Z9 goes official with Dimensity 7200

The iQOO Z9 was just announced with a Mediatek Dimensity 7200 chip and 8 GB RAM that can be doubled through a software algorithm. This is the global debut of the vivo-owned smartphone, and its first market will be India.

The phone features a 6.67” AMOLED display of Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and 300 Hz touch sampling rate. There is a punch hole for the 16 MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

On the back, we have a square island that has room for two shooters – 50 MP main with Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS, while the second cam is a basic 2 MP depth sensor. The video recording goes up to 4K at 30 fps.

The iQOO Z9 comes with vivo's own Funtouch OS 14, based on Android 14. The company equipped a 5,000 mAh cell that supports 44W charging, and vivo will provide a charger in the retail box. In India and certain other markets it will also include a case in the package.

The phone supports dual nano SIM cards, but the second slot is hybrid and can be used for a micro SD card (for up to 1 TB storage). There is no NFC on board, no FM radio, and the 3.5 mm audio jack is also missing – sound comes through the USB-C port (or wirelessly).

Connectivity-wise, Bluetooth is 5.3, Wi-Fi supported standards are a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and since the Dimensity 7200 chip is 5G enabled, the iQOO Z9 comes with 5G dual standby.

The iQOO Z9 is offered in two cool-looking colors – Brushed Green and Graphene Blue. The price is INR19,999 ($240/€220) for 128 GB storage or INR21,999 ($265/€245) for 256 GB storage. There are INR2,000 ($24/€22) discounts for customers who purchase the phone with a bank card deal.
