Latest Honor 9X teaser video reveals July 23 announcement date

Enrique, 13 July 2019

Earlier this week, Honor’s VP George Zhao posted a few teaser images of the Honor 9X’s packaging next to some tangible items, which hinted at a few aspects of the next Honor X model.

Recently, a teaser video has surfaced showing the legacy of previous Honor X devices going all the way back to the Honor 3X. At the very end of the video, a July 23 release date is also teased along with the side of the Honor 9X’s retail packaging.

Unfortunately, nothing else pertaining to the 9X is teased, but at least we have a launch date. Honor devices normally launch in China months before arriving in global markets like Europe and India.

The Honor 9X is expected to come with an updated Kirin 810 processor, improved camera setup, and (allegedly) a larger 4,000 mAh battery. GPU Turbo 3.0 would debut on the Kirin 810 so we can expect better gaming performance for this device.

Considering the ever-increasing competition in the budget segment from the likes of the Realme X and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro, we expect Honor’s X lineup to impress us this year. We also might expect to see an Honor 9X Pro variant with a triple camera setup and pop-up selfie camera. Based on the previously leaked packaging, we could also see gradient color options. We also wonder if this is the year that Honor finally switches the X lineup to USB-C.

We’ll find out all about the Honor 9X once its announced in China in less than two weeks.

It was stating that the 8x had a kirin 710. Even their CEO boasted that the 9x would have a kirin 810. Not a typo... more like common knowledge at this point
