Lava Blaze 3 5G unveiled with Dimensity 6300 chipset, Vibe Light
The Lava Blaze X arrived in July with a Dimensity 6300 chipset and a fancy curved 6.67” OLED display. This model was relatively pricey for a Blaze with a starting price of ₹15,000. Now Lava is bringing a more affordable option, also using the D6300 but with a lower starting price of ₹10,000 (note that this is a promo price and includes a bank offer).
Besides the chipset, the Lava Blaze 3 5G really is closer to the Blaze 2 5G than it is to the X. This means that it comes with a 6.56” LCD with only HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. For comparison, the X had a 6.67” 120Hz OLED with FHD+ resolution.
Back to the chipset for a moment, it’s paired with 6GB of RAM (and up to 6GB more of virtual RAM) and 128GB storage (UFS 2.2), which is expandable with microSD cards up to 1TB. The phone is launching with Android 14 and a promise of “No Ads. No Bloatware.” The 5G modem supports all sub-6GHz bands that have been acquired by Indian carriers.
Additional connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.2, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers to boot. The fingerprint reader is mounted on the side and can unlock the phone in 0.24 seconds (that’s three times faster than the face unlock system).
Moving on to the camera system, this is also closer to the Blaze 2 5G but with a new twist – the Vibe Light. This is a secondary ring light, which has a much warmer tone than the primary ring light above it. As for the cameras, there are a 50MP main and a 2MP helper on the back, plus an 8MP selfie punch holed into the display.
The battery is nothing special, a 5,000mAh Li-Po cell with 18W charging over USB-C. It takes over 2 hours (135 minutes) for a full 0-100% charge.
The Blaze series tries to keep at least some premium features, despite its price, such as a glass back. For this model, you can pick between Glass Blue and Glass Gold colorways. The device is basically the same size as its predecessor, measuring 164.3 x 76.2 x 8.6mm and weighing 201g.
The Lava Blaze 3 5G will be available starting on September 18 (Wednesday this week). You will find it on Lava’s online stores as well as Amazon India. Again, the promotional launch price will be ₹10,000 with a bank offer (this is for the 6/128GB model, which is the only option for now). The MSRP is ₹11,500. Buyers will enjoy Lava’s Free Service @ Home (more details here).

The irony is that only Nokia's phones were "ad-free" and "bloatware-free", and they don't even advertise it in the first place. The Motorolas and Lavas I came across had a load of telemetry apps baked into each firmware....
