Lava is known to provide handsets with good camera,but for this one i heard many ppl complaining about the same.It may be because of the software and the sensor... Actually the phone has an 8mp sensor so the processing will be done for photos of 8mp resolution.But by default this phone has 10mp resolution in settings,that may be the cause for the quality issues... Do check it with the resolution set to 8MP in the camera settings and let me know if there is any visible change! Thankyou :-) if the problem persists it may be because of the software(which lava will sortout with the lollipop update for sure) because third gen sony bsi is not a cheap piece of hardware.

Hey frds, I got iris x8 on 23/2/2015 at 8800. I'm using this phone and no hang problems. About 1.4gb ram available after disabled some app and u got at list 13gb to use.8mp camera is not good enough to compare the front 3mp.But in low light main camera does well , looks like 5mp in day light. U can use so many apps,play game,brows net and so all the battery last a day , u see some heating problems but not so much a little believe me guys.
Use Google crome for better net access.
Overall that is the best phone in this range, any one buy this.
Performance is good.
