Flash back to Android Kiktkat 4.4.2 (if you're on test package) using SP Flash Tool [TUTORIAL HERE].
Download the Lollipop Official Update from here.
Root and flash CTR recovery in your kitkat following these two tutorials, [ROOT & RECOVERY].
Now after successfully rooting your kitkat device boot into recovery mode. But first don't forget to place both update.zip and SuperSU.zip in sd card.
From Recovery, first do preflash in ctr.
Flash update.zip via ctr recovery.
The flash SuperSU.zip.
Reboot your Lava Iris X8.
Now you have successfully installed root lollipop update (final).

Doing this, all connectivity will be gone, and then start again. It will connect to the router again.
