The pop-up ads are brought about by some applications installed on your phone. I have the same problem for pop-up ads before, and I have managed to get rid of them after uninstalling the Hitap keyboard preinstalled by factory. You may have to review those applications inclusive of those preinstalled by factory on your phone one by one to identify the culprit.
As for the slow response, I have done a factory reset and keep only the essential applications needed and constantly clear up unwanted space and the phone is giving decent performance like when I just got the phone.

Worst phone i ever had... Ads pop up everywhere.. it really annoying. Sometime it can download apps without your permission. And with 512mb ram it will freeze it to super lagging.. GO find other lenovo model like VIBE siries.. not for this one.. just now. Im using LENOVO Vibe K5. Im really happy with it performance..No ads pop up.no lagging. Got great camera back and front.

well-- its a cheap phone with many features and you have to be savvy to set it up--once that is done-- and as soon as possible install an anti spyware programme and antivirus ..if not you will be deluged with more stuff (crap) than can be dealt with.. the only way this phone can be sold at this price is for the seller to do deals with merchants of almost anything you can imagine ie (crap)

My A616 just arrived today and when I inserted my US Tmobile sim, I keep getting this message "No Service" or "Searching for network".
Can anyone please help me with troubleshooting this mess? My sim works perfectly with my other phones. Thank you

The Lenovo A616 is a nice phone, but deceptive. You cannot delete all call logs at a go by pressing a button. When you contact Customer Services, no answer comes back even by email. You cannot switch off the roaming even as am in UK. Customer Services should wake up to teach buyers what we don't understand. Cheers!!

The A616 is so slow and unresponsive ... The browser is terribly slow ... I've had to uninstall loads of apps to speed it up. The fm radio is not picking up stations in the uk and any names in contacts have Chinese letters too. Hilarious ... Cannot get my location for weather app Chinese characters again so I installed my favourite weather app ... but for the money it's very good otherwise

When I try to make a phonecall it asks if I want to allow roaming. If I say no, I can't make the call. I'm using the phone in the UK wih a UK sim. I've been using the sim for years in a standard (non smartphone) phone, no roaming charges.. Any ideas??
