I have purchased and using Lenovo A706 phone from past 10 -15 days.
Major mistake which i dont know how your quality / testing team passed it without checking.
that is in SIM setting > SIM information, the text 'Display numbers' is mis-spelled as 'Diaplay numbers'. Such a error has gone unnoticed and phone has been launched and sold to people like us, who would have had such a high expectation of the brand.
Also, in the clock option, we need to select each country and add it to the list of countries we wish to see the time difference/time at that place. Does not have a world clock format ie a world map pinpointing the time zones and the time display.
I have found the following shortcomings in this phone.
1. volume control is not proper, for each call need to adjust the voice volume control . by default goes to full volume, even after setting the volume to desired level.
2. there is no FM radio recording option.
3. Camere shutter sound can not be put to off.
4. No option to backup files and contacts to laptop or on cloud, so that incase by mistake the contacts/ files gets deleted from phone, there is no backup will be available.
5. In email option, setting multiple accounts does not should the list of email accounts as a page from where we can select the email account which we wish to see the mails from.
I donot know how many more such issues are there in the product. Hope care will be taken to resolve these issues.

First I would like to thank you for helping me.
Actually the problem is not connection speed, since I can use Skype very clearly, and I have tried calling using several WiFi Networks with same outcome. On the other side, others are calling by using the same Apps and the same WiFi very clearly.
In fact my voice is received very very slow, like playing audio at rate 1/5 of the normal rate !

what happened t... moreHi... As far as i know, the GPU (Adreno 203) of this phone doesn't have VRAM itself. So the last 244mb RAM, reserved by the GPU, and the Android system. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
But i think it's enough... :)

jayzee, 19 Aug 2013its because sim2 uses gsm only...while sim1 uses hdpa/3g i dont think that its the problem, my phone is also dual sim, hsdpa/gsm capable in sim1 slot, gsm in sim2 slot. go sms pro recognizes 2 sims and when i turn on the data connectivity, it asks me what sim to use.
