I have owned this phone about 3 months and here is what I think of it. I currently use this with straighttalk (AT&T sim card), with the stock 4.4.2 android. Phone has a 16gb sim installed. Phone is nice and fast, with some lag due to 1gb memory. The reception is fairly poor, only getting 1 or 2 bars at my job, and the data connection is decent. Phone only gets 3G H+, which is plenty fast for most people. There are a few things I dont like. If wifi is on but not connected to a network, the phone will not switch to 3g data, instead it will continue searching for wifi. During usage, apps that use data like FB messenger will say waiting for network, but notifications for other apps will still come in. The 13mp camera is more like a 5mp, pictures in low light look horrid, and pics in normal light have a bright lens flare around them. And finally, there isnt a better version of android on this unit. It came out Nov 2014....Android 5 was available then....

Hi! I got the same problem, and the solution its to use another program to watch videos, I recommend to you people, use Viral video, can be downloaded from Playstore, and its the same thing as youtube.

I have lenovo a916 but i cant play videos at all.neither from youtube nor from other sources.after playing one video my phone closes my browser and says" browser doesnt respond". Can anybody help me to solve this problem?

Lenovo A916 Smartphone has dual SIM card slots and they need to be activated first.
Activation Steps:
1: Input *#*#5448264#*#* on the dialpad (Accept the Chinese wrighting)
2: A916 will automatically restart then
3: Setting~SIM management~Standby Mode~Dual Standby~Activate
4: Dual SIM card dual standby available.

i've been seeing some opinions that says the lenovo a916 is not safe to use becauase there's a spyware in it and the only way to get rid of the spyware is by using the s206 rom. Is that true? because i've been wanting to buy this phone for a long time but i feel unsafe to buy this phone now.... can anyone tell me if it's safe?
