Lenovo 6.8-inch phablet with 3500mAh battery leaks

10 June, 2015

Lenovo is pushing the boundaries of what's called a phablet these days and has come up with a 6.8-inch device, which it'll still try to have you use for voice calls. What is so far known as PB1-770N, has passed certification at the Chinese regulator TENAA, revealing most of its specs.

Computing power comes from a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, though architecture remains unspecified, as is the chipset. There's 2GB of RAM on board and 32GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card up to 64GB can be used as well.

Lenovo has deemed the FullHD resolution sufficient for the 6.8-inch diagonal and with a 324ppi density most will be inclined to agree. You also get a 13MP primary camera, but you'll be limited to 1080p video. On the front there's a 5MP selfie shooter as well.

The PB1-770N, which let's face it, will have to get a more marketable name before launch, is one large device. Some might see a resemblance to a scaled up Apple iPhone 6 Plus, but we're not the ones to judge at this point.

The Lenovo phablet measures 186.6 x 96.6 x 7.7mm, and although the footprint may seem unwieldy, the thickness sounds better. Weighing 230g, it's also not exceptionally heavy for its size, but that has come at the cost of battery capacity, which doesn't impress at 3,500mAh.

With certification passed, the Lenovo PB1-770N should become official in the coming weeks. We'll have more details on pricing and availability then.

After a week living together with Lenovo phab plus I have to say that return to something less than 6.8 inches is impossible. Is little bigger than 6's but what it offers less eye fatigue and that is is incredible. It is super small for a table...
