I don't know why people slate this tablet for poor battery life etc., as mine seems just fine for regular usage. Any tablet or phone will drain the battery fast if you start using all the available performance they have.
This remarkable tablet has no competition in its price bracket. Most other tablets have only 1024x768 or 1280x800 resolution, many more are still only dual core, and even more still have only 1GB RAM for app usage, compare that to this with 1920x1200, quad core cpu & 2/16GB RAM for just £109, & it's a steal.
Some people just expect everything I guess.

I was in the same situation as you, I actually opened the back of the Tablet just to remove the Sim Card! But it was covered, so I feared that I would have to take it to the Service Centre. But after some trying and luck I finally got it out.
Here is what to do:
No need to open the Tablet/Back Cover. Only open the flap covering the slots
You will need a needle and a tweezer
Hold the Tablet such that the headphone slot is facing your right
Now you will only see the edge of the Sim Card (thick straight line of plastic)
Now with a needle push the rightmost point of Sim Card inside (yes push it INSIDE) this will hopefully dis-engage the mechanism
The Sim Card will become loose. Now insert the needle in the gap between the rightmost point of Sim Card and the wall of the slot enclosure
Now gently applying force on the Sim with the needle, pull the needle outside. Try it for some time. It will make the Sim come out more
Try gently pricking the Sim with the needle on its flat side and try to pull it out
Now the Sim should have come out enough for you to grab it with a tweezer. Grab it with a tweezer and pull it out slowly
I am not guaranteeing this will work 100% because I don't know your situation. But this method works for me every time (the 4-5 instances that I came across)

my comment and question regarding my tablet losing wifi connection when the network is eve slightly weak when all my other gadgets remain connected has not been posted. i tried to see if it has anything to do with the settings. i did my best with the advanced wifi settings available on the tab. i undid the battery optimisation vis a- vis the wifi. the setting that did improve it slightly was letting google and other apps search for network even when wifi is turned off . now i dont see any relation but it did the trick ..well to some extent. has anyone else faced similar issues. and also would like any suggestions regarding any solution.
the other problem was the bad sim and micro sd slot , the spring type and if you aren't careful your card will be stuck there inside with no way of getting it out except opening up the tab.

hey guys .. about the battery i would say is .. in any TABS you won't find a longer battery life .. so according to me 6 hours battery is much enough .. in the aspect with tabs

Had plans of buying a lenovo S8 today but with the look of things here, mostly the battery life its a NO No situation lemme check what to add on my cart

Another problem all buyers of this tab should know. The Sim and microsd card slot are the spring type. If you aren't careful then u can have either of two stuck with no way to take them out. My micro sim is stuck. It won't come out. So I am letting it say and when I would need it to come out I will have to pay a visit to service center and get them to open the tablet and take it out.phew!

Well, the tablet has a good display . yes it flickers at low brightness. No option for auto brightness. But the most annoying problem I have been facing with this tab is the WiFi connection. I keep losing WiFi connection where my other devices remain well connected. Only where the network is very strong does the WiFi remain stable. Other places it drops and sometimes doesn't even connect back on its own. So I tried to look into its settings. There is a WiFi battery optimizer, I turned that off. No improvement. Then there is an option for letting the device only when the network is strong. It wasn't ticked but as a hit and trial thing I tried with it turned on. Nothing changed. Then there was a third option which is letting Google and other apps scout for networks even if WiFi is turned off. I ticked off. There was a major improvement but still it wasn't like my other devices. Now can someone here help me with the problem

Bought yesterday... What a display and speed. It's very thin and light and bought yellow color my favorite. Its available in Oman for 200$

i loved this tab after seeing specs and design. Ordered on cod(flipkart). But cancelled after reading a lot of reviews saying "battery is worse". 8 out of 10 reviews say battery is insufficient.

Hi guys tis is Karthick a Tech savy,, I bought this tabby Jus three days back,, this is really a great piece of slection,,,had a idea abt Nexus 9 and iPad air, was curious abt nexus 9, since I am using nexus 5 I know the perfection notch. Came across this device as a pop up wen I was checking abt nexus 9.
Wil write my hands on experience guys.

touch response is really a great thing in this product
Great screen resolution
Okey battery life,, if you are a mid leveluser
Dolby digital- wil make you to float in air.(very much satisfied)
Very fast processor and Ram is really good.
Good gaming tablet supports great for real football 2015 Asphalt 8(rendering high graphics ram usage games)
Speed is amazinglygreat in cellular as well as wifi.
Guys I Justreceived the 32gb memory card of 10x speed..I inserted it and it works great

Over heating I can't hold the tablet without back case.dont pplay games in oouter space or near the wi doe cuz of hot sun and overt heating there are possibilities to get burst EGot switched off on the day 1 and struggled restatrting for 10mins even wen I had 70 age of charge.
Over All for 17.5k it's a great piec. And worth th penny

camera sound is irritating, cant even shut it down..
chimpanzee glass so can break easily..
auto-brightness sensor is missing..

I bought mine YTD from IT show. Thinpad,lite weight and video streaming is just nice for 299SGD plus freebies.Not for gaming deffo. I am happy with this purchase.My first 2nd android device on KitKat version. I bought the one with LTE Sim slot and additional microsd 32Gb. Though it can extend up to 64.
I was thinking of buying Asus transformer pad at first yet it only got 1GB Ram and no Sim slot. S8 comes with 2G and Intel quad core so I can't complain.
I bought powerbank so if my power is low ,I have a back up.😀
