Anand, 22 Dec 2014Hi, Comparing Lenovo S8 and Dell Venue 8 which one is pr... moreThe Lenovo Tab S8 obviously. It has better Processor/GPU, more RAM, is more Slim, Compact and Lightweight, is more Stylish, has better Cameras and almost the same battery capacity (4290mAH vs 4550mAH of Dell Venue 8 3000)

Just to be clear the dot pattern is not visible under normal usage. You cannot make it out at normal viewing distances. Its only visible when light reflects off the screen and you look at it up close to your eyes. This isn't an issue or something to worry about.

DJB, 22 Dec 2014Yes I have also seen but not sure if that creates any problemI have been observing the dotted pattern on screen, for those who don't know the Entire Screen of the Tab has Dots of Grey Colour against the Black Background.
Here is that pattern:
dropbox.com/s/y82l3vhl6yi9cvb/2.jpg?dl=1
Here is the full photo:
dropbox.com/s/vrr45mwh8bi31n4/1.jpg?dl=1
Do you see the pattern on the left and right side of the flash? The flash illuminates just a single column, this pattern is on the entire screen.
This pattern is visible while using the Tab. It appears in the darker sections/areas of the screen, whether it be videos, application, games etc. It happens when light reflects off the screen. And the display is very reflective. The problem is that you tend to keep the brightness down in order to conserve the battery (Tab has bad battery life) and when the brightness is low you see these patterns on the screen due to reflections. If you increase the brightness the patterns disappear in the coloured regions of the screen but are still present in the blackish regions of the screen. Due to low contrast of the screen everything appears whitish at high brightness and its eats battery quickly.
So you have to choose between
Low brightness, ok battery life, patterns on screen with reflections
Or
High brightness, bad battery life, whitish screen with pattern still visible in black areas

rishi, 21 Dec 2014Thanks Nikhil
Pls.suggest other best tab this rang in 2 GB... moreHi Rishi, at this point I would only recommend 4 Tablets:
If you want a 7 inch tablet then Nexus 7 2013 32GB Wifi or 3G version
If you want a 8 inch tablet then Yoga 2 Tablet 8 inch, but if you don't like its form factor (like me) then Lenovo Tab S8
If your budget allows and if you can live with 16GB memory and Wifi only then Nexus 9 Wifi is a no brainer
With any Nexus Tablet you will get Unprecedented Hardware/Software/App/Game/Mod/Tweak/Accessory Support
They are very popular with consumers and developers
Android OS is also very optimized (Minimal Lag)
With Lenovo Yoga 2/Tab S8 you will get Expandable Memory and Voice Calling
They are more stylish. Good for average users.

I got this tab from flipkart.Till now the tab has been performing really good. The sound system, dolby is amazing.Very useful while watching movies and all. Camera is Okay.
But the android version is 4.4.2 and on clicking it, it shows the letter B instead of K for kitkat :-| Is that weird? Anyone else having the tab can confirm on the same??

Here is my experience with the Lenovo Tab S8 (Model: S8-50LC)
Pros:
Its compact, slim, lightweight and has appropriate bezel size
I like the finish on the back, the tablet looks great and doesn't feel cheap
Display is good, crisp, bright and vivid but little low on contrast
Stereo Speakers are loud but lack depth
Cameras are good enough for a tablet
The Intel Processor and GPU are very capable
2 GB RAM
USB OTG Support
3G/4G + Calling
Minimal Bloatware
Inbuilt app called Security HD is good with essential features like Permission Manager
Inbuilt Video Player has Pop Up playback support
Browsing is fast and smooth
Android 4.4.2 and apps are themed to mimic iOS (also no app drawer but its all fixable) some may like it some may not but it looks modern and fresh
In app performance is great but it stutters while switching between apps during multitasking and while in the default launcher. Lenovo is to blame here because hardware is good
Root is available for the Tab at XDA
Its seems to be USB 3.0
Minimum packaging, no headphones included. Doesn't bother me as all boxed headphones are of poor quality.
Cons:
Biggest drawback of this Tab is the Battery Life! I guess this is the price you pay to have a thin and light tablet. No app or software update is going to help because it has only 4290mAH battery and the main cause of battery drain is a hardware i.e. the Screen.
With light usage you may need to charge it once every day
Limited Colour Gamut. Screen doesn't have full sRGB coverage. The colours are not accurate. May bother someone like Photographers. Nexus 7 2013 has 100% sRGB coverage and more accurate colours
No Gorilla Glass
No Screen Protectors and Cases available
No Auto Brightness
Boxed USB cable is short in length and has a very tight fit, almost damaging the USB connector. So I am using another USB cable
No MultiWindow mode provided like the one in Yoga Tablets despite having the same hardware
No Magnetometer
MicroSIM slot has very low tolerance hence if you have cut your SIM at home (or haven't cut/punched it appropriately) then it will get stuck in the Tablet! Had to buy a new SIM because of it
Inbuilt Music Player is bad better get something like Poweramp
Audio Quality is poor (Xperia L sounds better). Dolby is just a software gimmick. The DAC in it is cheap. Can't expect much at this price.
x86 Compatibility issues. Like some Xposed modules don't work and some may cause boot loop.
Minimal Developer Support. Questionable future Android Updates. No ROMs
Conclusion:
All in all its a good tablet for the price you pay. If you really want an 8 inch tablet then this tablet is the best (Sony Z3 Compact Tablet is better but way more costlier)
Otherwise Nexus 7 2013 is a better option at 7 inches

Had to replace my new Samsung Galaxy Tab3 after a few days as it didn't have Bluetooth 4, which I need to draw using a Leica laser. Better quality tablet, little bloatware which as indicated can be removed. It is very light and fits comfortably in my paw. Waiting to see when someone will start selling the little pouches with a Bluetooth keyboard. My better half has not seen my latest acquisition, as then she'll want one too.
