Lenovo unveils new Slim/Yoga series laptops
Lenovo’s Slim range of premium ultrabooks (Yoga Slim outside the US) now carries four new members with the Lenovo Slim 9i, Slim 7i/7 Pro X, Slim 7i Carbon and Slim 7/7i. These are slim and light laptops with Intel or AMD processors that come in 14 or 16-inch sizes. Let’s examine the range.
Lenovo Slim 9i is the flagship offering with a 14-inch OLED touchscreen display configurable with 2,880×1,800px resolution at 90Hz or all the way up to 4K (3,840×2,400px) at 60Hz. Both panels come with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 10bit colors and cover 100% of the P3 color gamut. Audio is handled by four Bowers & Wilkins tuned speakers flanking the keyboard.
Lenovo went with 12-gen Intel Evo processors at the helm with either a Core i5-1240P or a Core i7-1280P at the helm aided by 16/32GB dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB/ 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. The laptop makes do with Intel’s Iris Xe integrated graphics card. Lenovo equipped the Slim 9i with a beefy 75Wh battery pack and charging is handled via the USB-C port.
I/O includes 2x USB-C PD ports that also double as DisplayPorts, one full-sized HDMI 2.1 port, a USB-A, a microSD card reader and an audio jack. The laptop comes in at 17.35m when folded and weighs 1.43 kg.
Lenovo Slim 9i starts at $1,799 and is expected to arrive to stores in June.
Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X/7i Pro X brings a 14.5-inch IPS LCD with 3,072×1,920px resolution and a speedy 120Hz refresh rate. Lenovo lets you choose between Intel’s 12-gen H-series processors for the 7i Pro X or AMD Ryzen 6000HS Creator series on the 7 Pro X.
You can configure the laptop with up to 32GB dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Graphics are handled by Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050. Both laptops come with 70Wh batteries, wx Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A 3.2 port, an HDMI 2.0 and an audio jack.
Lenovo Slim 7i Pro X starts at $1,699 and will be available in June while the Slim 7 Pro X will start at $1,499.
Lenovo’s Slim 7i Carbon is a 13-inch ultrabook weighing in at just 967.8 grams / 2.13 lbs while still packing Intel’s 28W 12-gen P-series processors and Intel Iris Xe graphics. The 13-inch IPS LCD brings a 2,560×1,600 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The ultrabook is configurable with up to 32GB RAM and 1TB of storage.
Lenovo packed in a 50Wh battery, one Thunderbolt 4 port and a USB Type-C with PD. Lenovo Slim 7i Cabon will retail for $1,299 once it goes on open sale in June.
Lenovo Slim 7 and 7i series comes in 14 and 16-inch sizes with a 2,880×1,800px OLED option with 90Hz refresh rate on the 14-incher or a 2,880×1,800 IPS with a 120Hz. The 16-incher gets 2,560×1,600 resolution with 120Hz refresh rate on the Intel chips or 165Hz on the AMD models
Lenovo lets you configure the laptops with Intel P-series, H-series or AMD Ryzen 6000HS Creator processors. You can configure the 16-inch models with RTX 3050 Ti graphics while the 14-inch model goes up to an RTX 2050.
Lenovo Slim 7 Pro 14 with AMD Ryzen 6000 Series processor starts at $1,499 while the 14-inch Slim 7i will sell for $1,199 later this month.

Very solid offerings from Lenovo. Will be interesting to see how the 16inch models stacks up against the XPS15/17.
