MY HONEST REVIEW OF LENOVO Z2 PLUS(ZUK Z2)
I’m using this for 3 weeks and I’m sharing my experience with the phone here. I will be speaking about each aspect(both + & -) of the phone in detail.
Physical Overview
+ Build quality is good and weight is well distributed.
+ Single button acts as a many purpose button that is cool which is also used as fingerprint scanner.
-Fingerprint sensor is accurate mostly but sometimes it’s not sensing correctly even on trying for multiple times only way is to use the pattern or pin to unlock during that time.
- Despite looking good,the phone looks bit junkier.
-The glossy black finish is prone to scratches. I used the phone without case just for a few hours and I got scratches in it.
- Unknow glass protection at the front(no gorilla glass)
- Power button is placed below volume rocker which is a bummer on my view, Still I can’t get used to it.
- Good screen quality but lacks AMOLED panel.
Cellular reception & Sound quality
+ Good cellular reception.
+ Has VOLTE support in SIM 1, so you can use JIO Sim for calls without using app.
-When you turn on VOLTE you need to reboot the phone to get it enabled.
- No inbuilt Call recording option which is a very basic one, sadly you have to download third party app from playstore for call recording.
- Sound quality via headphone jack is very less audible and flat.
-Sound quality via speakers is ok but not good enough.
Camera
Lenovo doesn’t have a good history for camera and it continues here too.
+13 MP rear camera does very good in natural lighting.
+8MP front camera is good and I have no complaints.
+4K video recording is good
-Lacks OIS and laser autofocus so need to be careful on taking shots otherwise photos will come blurry.
-Lots of noise and bad quality images in low lighting.
- F2.2 aperture which is not good for closeup shots and macro shots.
-Single LED flash
General Performance
+Qualcomm 820
+Good memory management, keeps all open apps in memory
+No lags till now.
-Phone gets heats up on the follwing occasions which is annoying
1. On playing video or audio via speaker
2. On using wifi to transfer data(share it)
3. With some games(I noticed extreme heating on playing assasin creed but no heating with Asphalt 8)
Battery backup is very good and almost lasts for a full day with moderate usage. I’m getting a SOT of 5 hours.
Verdict
I would recommend this phone for those who’s priorities are
Compact size , Good batterty life, excellent performance but who can tolerate litle heating issues.
I would strictly not recomment this phone whose priorities are
Good camera and music experience , Good gaming performance

The display used in zuk z2 is the same display that has been used in I phone 7.. Lol lenovo you guys are amazing :D

I have been using this phone for a week now. Though the experience has been great, my question is regarding the charger in the box. The supplied charger is a normal one and I bought Aukey Qualcomm 3.0 adapter from Amazon. Though the supplied usb cable in the box is mini usb, i have been using original white usb-c type cable with Aukey adapter and the charging time is still 1-2 hrs. Do i need to order a 3.0 usb-c type as well to see desired charging performance ??

Cant disconnect the call after picking up someone's call or when called someone else,screen goes blank.Is the a problem in my zuk z2 or some software bug.Has somebody experienced this.Please reply

Bought the phone two month ago, and from then i never seen even the shadow of a bug. On benchmark, this jewel make nearly as mush as Sammy S7! While costing half the price :-3 Waiting for the update ZUI 2 to get more stable for installing, but ZUI 1.9 isn't sloppy at all and runs every app smoothly. Contrarly at some posts, camera is fast and precise under correct light conditions, but takes a bit more time when underlighted, you can go from 4k 30fps until 720p 120fps (though the software can do interpolation and up it more somewhat).Battery is awesome(those who blame it for not having more than the Z1 couldn't stay awake the time the phone hold in normal usage).Not having to care about your level of battery is really unstressing(a though for these Iphone users).Screen is great too.As for the specs I find that it's on par with whatever exist on the market. Though there is some drawbacks (ie ,some chinese characters in some apps ,eg meteo but easily replaceable by any on the play store, or the absence of a apps deck, or the absence of Sd slot ,there is 64gb so you've got margin) the ZUK Z2 is definitively THE phone I would recommend to a friend.
