Will the LG A290 work in the US?
It is a quad band phone but the charger can be used only between 150v and 240 v 50 hz.
          US uses 110 volts .

              Dear Friends,

Can anyone tell me how to connect this phone to PC with the supplied USB cable? LG's support is so poor and I can't even remember how I have downloaded the LG PC Suite IV yesterday. I tried to connect the phone to my XP & W7 pcs but both failed. The PC Suite says "no response from the device".

Although it was a setback, I loved the phone very much, really very much. It's a nice phone for such a cheap price (US$ 78 in Saudi) and the surprising package contents (with a good USB cable!). I purchased the SAMSUNG E2152 two months back and it was a piece of junk for US$ 67 compared to this.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate.

Its a nice phone and highly recommended to those people carrying 2 phones like me. i bought it last week and what i can say i love this phone. i can receive messages calls in the 3 sim cards. I am using LG GX200 dual sim card and i replace it by this model. the sound is clear the music is clear you can block a number that you don't want to bother you. have a fake call i can use during a meeting. its a better choice than buying a dual sim phone that is made in china.price is acceptable 300 here in KSA you can change the wallpaper, themes, and you can assign a special ringtone to the caller. each sim cards has a different ringtones that you can choose so you. I wish LG can make a triple sim with android touch screen.

Hi all..I Bought this Phone on Monday 28th ,
                          one true fact
                          this phone is incridible

The first thing that strikes about this phone is its .....battery. It gives a sterling performance and it lasted me nearly eight with heavy audio calling, texting and music and video playing.
Those who are looking for a high resolution camera should go for another handset as the camera aboard the LG A290 is only 1.3 mega pixels…but for a phone at this price, its really good. The phone is really a very good value for money. Its compact and feels comfortable in the hand the pocket, has a nice shape and the buttons and menu are very user friendly.
The LG A290 is the first three sim card handset by a top selling mobile phone manufacturer as almost all tri sim phones have been made by Chinese companies. This phone allows you to insert three sim cards at the same and have three standby networks at the same time.
When you want to make a call or text a message, the phone gives you the choice which card you want to use. Its very easy to use and is a very handy mobile handset.
The camera and the video recorder are average but good considering to the handset’s price. The phone has a radio, which allows you to record programmes provided it is connected to a headset, which acts as an antenna.
The LGA290 can store up to 1,000 names in the phone directory plus what you can save in the SIM card. It has an internet browser and MMS while texting is a real breeze. The phone is not supplied with much built in memory as its only around 15 mb but can take external card of up to 8 GB.
The music player does not have too many options but again for a phone of this price, it is above average.
What am trying to say is that this phone is really cheap considering the fact that it can take three sim cards. LG apparently is targeting those who use more than one sim card as it sacrificed other features found on some more expensive LG phones and other brands.
What this phone also boasts is the presence of a fast Bluetooth facility and a powerful torch located on the top side of the handset. The screen is large, bright and crisp as is the case with almost all LG phones while the handset has many other features favoured by some users including a strong sound recorder, an image editor, powerful alarm, organizer and many others.
Above all, the 1,500 mAH battery gives the LG A290 an edge over most other handsets in terms of standby performance. Without heavy usage, I am sure the phone could last nearly two weeks on one charge.
                          Dedicated keys
                          schedule powe on and off
Hope this longer review is useful….

                          thanks

Before you call anyone 'dummy' or assert that others (such as 'Bharat'-I assume) are asking unintelligent questions, it is imperative to check yourself first.

Firstly, this platform is open to all kinds of people that have different degrees of knowledge about phones.

Secondly, for you to assume that just because a phone is Dual/Triple Sim- that all sim work simultaneously- is an error. There is a difference between a Dual Standby and Dual Active phone. The former is when both sims are able to receive calls whilst on standby, but you cannot receive a call on the one sim card whilst the other is on an active call. I have a Nokia X1-01 (a Dual sim phone) and when I receive a call on the one sim, the other sim loses network for the duration of the call.
However Dual Active on the other hand, is when both sims are active inspite of any call mode, ie- one can still receive calls on the one sim card, whilst you're on a call with the other.

Thirdly based on the lack of knowledge you have displayed, you have been humbly corrected and perhaps should apologise to those of us that are willing to learn more. So no, it's not "A FACT" that Dual/Triple sims work simultaneously.

                                      Have a good day!

PS- I am open to correction if I have not rightly stated a fact.

Sometines I get amazed at some of the questions people post here. IF A MANUFACTURER TELLS YOU A PHONE IS DUAL OR TRIPLE SIM, IT MEANS EXACTLY THAT. THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL GET A TRIPLE SIM PHONE WHERE ONLY ONE SIM WORKS. All the sims are working in tandem, meaning if my phone is set on sim 1 I can still receive calls on sim 2 or 3 and if a call comes while im talking on sim 1, it will be on hold or call alert unles you want to disconnect your sim 1 call and take sim 2 call. If we took time to understand phones and read manuals we will spend less time asking silly questions and use this forums to discuss more intelligent issues relating to mobile technology and NOT whether all the sims in a dual or tripple sim phone work simoultaneously, its A FACT and thats why is has all the 3 sims so you dont have to carry 3 phones dummy. I hope you get it
