The Gr have a little less ram but otherwise the phones are pretty much the same.
The G4's camera is also a little bit weaker but the pixels of the camera makes up for it. So it's also basically the same.
Nevertheless, screen size and screen quality of the G4 is WAY better than the P8 lite.
Also a few extra features I really like on the G4.
It's really up to you, but I'm really happy with my G4 beat. Perfect phone for me.

As much as I like the LG G4 it doesn't stick to my budget, that's why I'm planning on getting the midrange one which is the LG G4 Beat or the older flagship LG G3. The only problem with it (LG G4 Beat) imho is that it has only 8 GB of internal storage which is a bit awful for its class.
In your opinion, which one should I buy, the LG G4 Beat or the LG G3?

no regrets buying a good brand and comes with best quality unit. buy a g4 if ever u are planning to buy an lg phone.

For the laggy interface, it's because of LG's launcher, well that's my opinion, try changing launchers, I tried using Nova for a while and it runs smooth in terms of UI and normal day to day screen swiping (less lag, you'll notice it). Also make a habit of closing unnecessary apps in the background.

Display is good. But the UI lags. Will it get atleast an update for the lagging issue? Probably, marshmallow?

for gaming you look at gpu and cpu. The cpu sucks on this phone! you will only get 59.4 Gflops at 550Mhz which is terrible for gaming
