LG G7 renders leak ahead of press event

We are expecting the LG G7 ThinQ to launch next week and in usual timing, @evleaks has released leaked press renders of the upcoming smartphone device from several angles. This is the first time we get a close look at the LG G7 ThinQ so let’s recap what we see here.

This render is for the silver/gray color option and the front bezel of the device is black, as we’d expect all color options to have. The front of the device has the controversial display notch which houses the front camera, in-call speaker, as well as light and proximity sensors. The lower bezel is a bit larger, in typical Android fashion.

On the back is LG’s new dual camera setup, which is newly positioned in a vertical orientation. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the back but it appears that LG is ditching it as the power key. The power key will retain its original position on the upper right-edge of the body. This brings us to the left edge of the phone, which has three buttons: volume +, volume -, and a new key – which rumors point to being a dedicated Google Assistant shortcut.

The top of the phone only has the SIM/micro SD card tray while the bottom shows us the 3.5mm headphone jack (which we doubt LG will get rid of any time soon), and a USB-C port next to a loudspeaker grille.

The phone’s got a shiny metal frame like the V30’s and the rear glass curves into the frame, just as the V30 and G6 before it. It looks like LG will have a nice-looking device on its hands, of course, if you don’t mind the notch – which looks like it’s here to stay.

The G7 ThinQ is expected to have the latest Snapdragon 845 CPU, 6-inch display, 6GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The phone is set to be announced simultaneously in Seoul, South Korea on May 3 and New York City on May 2 .
