And the battery still holds up nicely, I can use it for hours until it goes down to around 30%, then I'll plug it in for a while for a complete charge.
Still, after now 7 years of daily usage, this is the most AWESOME device, it charges up very quickly, compared to a 10" Samsung tablet I recently purchased, which I returned after a couple of weeks because it took around 7 hours for a full charge (!!) even it said "QUICK CHARGE", LOL. It had double the weight of my LG-baby, it was extremely smooth/slippery and hard to hold with one hand. Long story short: I will keep my little LG G Pad III 8.0 HD as long as it stays alive the way it is atm, battery-wise. Regular cache clean-up is mandatory, otherwise there is nothing else to mention. The USB-A port is being used for plugging sometimes a USB flash drive in, or my little wireless keyboard, or a mouse, dependent on the tasks I am doing.

I just posted my comment, but I forgot to mention the full USB-port, which is a total hit, connect the G Pad while being in the kitchen with a little Logitech K400 wireless keyboard/w.touchpad. It's also cool for file transfer from or to a USB stick/or a little card reader.

I am using my LG G Pad III 8.0 since December 2016, so almost 4 yrs. I am absolutely happy with this device, got it for CAD 240 as unlocked device. Not much streaming, just an occasional Netflix show while waiting somewhere. The SIM-card availability is also a plus, had it for a short while on a data plan, but now with Wifi everywhere available the plan is not necessary. Just recently it started turning off and on when the battery came down to around 50%, but since I use it mainly at home, in the bedroom or in the kitchen, or take it occasionally with me somewhere to a meeting, so it does not bother me, mostly I carry my power bank with me when I have the GPad with me, and I have also a laptop and a PC. Got a book-cover for it and a screen protector right at the beginning, so this device still looks like new. The pictures it takes are not HQ, but it is nice to have a camera on it. I save a lot of screenshots on the memory card, and once in a while I clean up the hard drive. Over all, this device does everything I need and want to do, the 8" screen is the perfect size, don't need necessarily my reading glasses. The price was right too. Long story short: I'm not buying another device until this one dies on me, which is not expected to happen soon.

Had it almost 2 years when it started to turn off on it's own while battery 98% charge left. Took for repair, Best Buy Geeks said they could not get parts to repair. Have new tablet now, not LG. Not happy at all with LG GPad 3.

Excellent tablet for the money. Various cellphone providers offered these free in Canada. Means you could buy them really cheaply used. Got mine for just $120 unopened. Works very well for watching YouTube, Hoopla, Netflix, etc.

Snappy performance. Great screen. Full size USB port is a nice bonus.

The battery life will last a whole day if you use it for just casual browsing, but if you watch videos, it will be around 5 to 6 hours, and if you plug a HDD into the USB port and stream video from it, you are looking at around 3 hours. The screen is quite sharp and responsive and RAM seems quite enough for me.
The deal breaker for me was the full USB port. A HDD will consumes quite a lot of power, so I load off my media onto a flash drive and watch it.
            Really happy with it.

Im using it now.got it for a month.tablet lags from having not enough RAM.2GB = less than 800MB left for use with your apps making it lag like when im typing right now. The good stuff is big display for movies and games, big battery which can last more than 1day of normal use at low settings, comfort view lets the device turn the screen into black and white which is very pleasing to the eyes, otg and usb slot available, huge microSD capacity for expansion.Bad part is laggy at times due to the RAM(you may delete some apps) slow charging speed takes forever from 0 to 100% battery.made of plastic so be sure buy shock proof casing

Updated to Android 7.0 Nougat via OTA. Very, very happy with this device overall.

When you first get it, do an update and then proceed with a factory reset. LG UI is good, stand tie is good and performance is great.
