I've got the phone and been using it for the last few days. Brilliant as long as you don't need apps. I really like it for its design and features.

Two draw-backs:
1.
Battery life is very poor. I mean, if I use the internet, few text messages/emails... can't get 24hrs out of it. Have the display background light at its minimum. Power saving on. And I haven't even used the music play yet. Big minus.

2.
RSS reader. Have they ever used the reader at LG? The initial setup is great. But then, you klick an item and it opens in the browser. Smallest font, poorest navigation, ... it could be so much better.

Anyhow. If you are looking for a great phone with touch screen and brilliant colours. That's the one.
Any questions, let me know.

Can anyone tell me what the battery life is like? I really like this phone, but am concerned about the capacity of the battery.

      Thanks.

I guess this should be considered normal when charging, but I think it is not normal after just 10-15 minutes of conversation. Could it be any health risk?

Am I alone in this experience? I just acquired the LG GD880 mini yesterday and I have charged the phone twice already. The phone seems to heat up very fast.

John, 01 Jul 2010What is the SAR value for this LG Mini???SAR-Value
SAR, Specific Absorption Rate, a measurement of the amount of radiation that is absorbed into a head while using a cellular phone, the higher the SAR-value the more radiation that is absorbed into the head. The lower the better. W/kg over 10 g tissue. Max value in EU, Japan etc is 2 W/kg. Below 0.5 is low, 0.5-1.0 is in the middle and over 1 is high.

For all LG mini users, google fixed the GMAPS problem where you couldn't zoom in before. You just need to update your google maps to version 8.1. See discussion here:

I get a mini a couple of weeks ago, and i've noticed that this phone starts heating at the top side after 10 minutes of conversation. It overheats when charging battrery as well. Is this normal?. None of my previous phones worked like this. Regares.

The official advice is to "avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band".
