In today's world video call is becoming common thing, so this type of phone should have the specification otherwise it is missing something.

Three have recognised the error and say they will rectify it by correcting the phone's specification. This is no compensation for those who purchased a phone which is not fit for purpose.

AMANDA, 25 May 2010I got mine from tele sales i like it but i find my fingers ... moreat the side of the phone there's a pen which you can pull out.its thin so it;s easer to just press one button it will not break your phone. also it connects to your computer there is no usb because supposedly you don't need one but was meant to get a CD so you can connect your phone to the computer.

I tried to download google maps, and it kept on telling me that the LG VIEWTY GT405 phone will not support this app. So I contacted LG and they themselves had said as quoted: " Due to the new software of the Viewty GT405, its does not support google maps technology, However, we are looking to our software technicians into this matter, to try come up with a google maps type application, to be added to all LG Viewty GT 405 and other models from there on. " As you see. this site and many has given you false information. I hate sites likes these that dont do ther homework properly. SHame on you GSMARENA.

I wonder why the adverts say this phone comes preloaded with google maps, messenger and skype apps. It doesn't have google maps as advertised (you wont even be able to download it), it doesn't come with messenger and skype (can be downloaded and installed). Is anyone thinking legal action or what???

I got mine from tele sales i like it but i find my fingers are pressing 2 keys when ime texting ,can anybody tell me if they got a usb lead in there box becouse i didnt its a bit boring without any music on it

My gt405 from 3uk didnt come with windows live messenger or skype or google maps preinstalled as 3 phones usually do,
is there somewhere I could download them from or why it might not have come with them preinstalled, as implied by advertising the phone with skype and messenger written on the front?

I actually looked at the specs on this site and they mentioned an S-Class interface and as this site had the most detailed specs at the time I decided to go for it.
Secondly I already have the original LG Viewty for a couple of years now so already know how good the camera is on it.
For those of you have have come on here for information....the phone is actually quite nice and slim and pleasant to use. The screen is bright and clear, the menu is an improvement on the KU990, the sound is better but as I said before the video camera is not as good. So it depends on what matters to you most. Also I've found that the battery seems to last longer on the GT405.

Just to add one more comment, this phone is described as the LG Viewty GT by 3. Don't be fooled into thinking that the video camera on this phone is as good as that on the original Viewty. The video camera does not have 120fps recording let alone 30fps. It looks more like 15fps.

I got this phone on 3 and discovered that it does not have the S-Class UI as the Arena or even the LG Pop. Also I tried to download Google maps on this phone and got the message back that the map application is not compatible with this handset. However I was pointed to the mobile web version.
As far as I can tell this phone is identical in look and menu system to the LG GT500 Puccini (see demo on you tube) except that there is no WiFi and also no camera flash. For a resistive screen the fluidity of the interface is not bad but I am disappointed as I was expecting the S-Class interface which looks much better.

it comes with Skype as standard on the 3 network in the UK.
