Does anyone know if this phone will ever have a firmware update soon? I hate not being able to choose an mp3 file as an alarm clock tone.
Oh, by the way, I sent my first phone as it sometimes needed battery replacement to switch on. I thought it defetive or something, I got the second phone, and it does the same thing. I think all these phones have the same problem.

Hey, i'm confused slightly Zac, what you're having problems with, you plug the phone into the usb cable other to the comp. and then it comes up as another drive, kind of like a USB flash drive then you just drag the files you want onto there, or are you on about when you actually synchronie it? because I heard that to synchronize it you need bluetooth for that, the bit where you can exchange data such as contact details and calendar etc, do you have bluetooth on your comp?

Hey, I've found it hasn't got scratched at all Graceit doesn't even collect dust as much as my laptop does lol. Anyone else noticed how it charges your phone when you connect it to your pc, which is annoyin if u want to run the battery down then charge it. As an orange customer I would recommend to get it from Orange, but there are plenty of stores that do it as well

The second drive is external memory card which I'm guessing you don't have. Why it shows it when no card is present I don't know.

I'm thinking about getting this phone and I'm concerned that the screen will get scratched easily. is it too delicate or is it pretty sturdy?

hi, im ethien, i think that LG mobile is quite lack of function at the beginning, but now they have already change some of the function that customer thought that it is not good at all like fm radio. However we should give some time to Lg mobile although it is still new on manafacture mobile world. Compare with nokia motorola, i do agree that thier phone functions are more attractive n more. But u dun think that it is quite bored if u keep using d same brand mobile. Korean mobile is popular with d design n fashionable like LG KG800-choclate (won iF design award 2006). LG KE970 shine is quite attractive n trendy compare with d others, dont u think so?

Hey, the battery life is ok, so i'v found, playing the games on it makes the battery go down a bit (damn the bubble soccer game lol). It's annoying that you cant have a decent tone for the alarm, but mystic freeze does me ok, some samsungs do have an option of mp3 as an alarm, my friend's does but hers is the D900 the new samsung super slim slider, I still prefer my shine though lol. I'v had this phone since friday and it has needed a charge inbetween but that's mainly due to me. About the channels I do notice a difference, anyone heard the song "flathead" by the fratellis, well there are a load of instruments that play, that sound like well percussion instruments and I never noticed this until this morning when I listened to it on the shine. I also love the ear phones, when they are clipped onto something they don't try and pull out your ear and you can't help but love the little remote and the fact the music stops automatically when someone calls you. Add on top of that the fact it's shiny and the camera is really good and you will want to get it now lol. You can tell I love this phone lol

I just tested and the alarm works with the phone switched off. Which is not what you asked. If the phone is in silent mode then everything is silent including the alarm which just flashes up on screen.
The battery life has been long enough for me so far lasting anything from three days to a week.
Is the screen visible in sunlight? We live in the UK so sunlight is not something we have to worry about ;)
j/k I've not had any problems with it in bright lights so far.

Thanx a lot, Carbonize!
Can you (or anyone else) tell me if the alarm on this phone would work if the phone is set to silent??? And would the shine finish screen would work in bright daylight?
And is the battery life long enough?
I have a benq siemens Mia edition and not at all happy, would like to upgrade to shine but want to get a good deal!!!

@Janus - Contact Parrot since they said it was compatible.
@Gibson - Nope. Samsung and LG both suck in the fact message alerts and alarm tones only have a small selection and you cannot use your own.
@Victoria - Not a lot you would notice. The more channels it has the more 'instruments' can be playing at the same time but unless you have a very good ear and very good speakers (ie not a mobile phone) I doubt you would notice the difference between 40 and 64. Anyway most ringtones are MP3 these days.
