to stop the light fading then turning off you got to set the backlight on for longer by doing that u go to settings, then go to handset which is number 3, then go to back light, then there will b to things that come up click on them both n set them both for longer eg. 60sec

to put photos in your phonebook you add contact then it shows you all this stuff you can do to eg. hm phone, mobile, name , email. but at the top it says handset or sim put it on handset then down at the bottom it will say something like photo n u shld take one b4 n then look 4 it.

I have just recently purchased this phone over ebay and am still waiting for it to arrive. Ive been erading the opinions in here and have read a lot of bad things about this phone. Im scared that i have made a wrong choice. Can someone please give me a honest and unbiased opinion on this phone so i know hwat im getting myself into.. thankyou

having some trouble selecting my own mp3 that i sent via bluetooth. i try to select in the menu but it won't even preview it there - and when i select it then it's totally silent when it rings! does this mean i can only use the crappy mp3s they gave me with the phone??

i bought this phone a few days ago and i think it was a good purchase for the price ($129 from vodaphone, unlocked for free).
PROS: bluetooth is great. very easy to cusomise, camera is pretty good for a VGA(no lag . it keeps up with fast texting, very easy to navigate around, speaker phone with adjustable volume,
CONS: very bad battery life, no video, no usb, comes with boring ringtones, no external memory and only 8 mb space, no power saving mode, cant delete default pics and ringtones to free up space, can only record 20 seconds of voice and to record songs the volume of the speakers must be VERY loud.
RANDOM NOTES
the screen isnt loose at all.
yes you can set voice records as ringtones but only if you send the voice to your computer and back to the phone (via bluetooth).
When it turns on it only takes less than 10 seconds after the animation before you can call/text, so there is no loading time for me.
there are no vodaphone markings on it.
the flash doubles as a torch at the touch of a button (be careful it is VERY bright)

to sarah, clearly u havent ready my last post. reason the screen goes blank while typing is because u set the alarm and when the alarm goes off you cancel it by pressing the top right hand soft key. Dont do this. To close the alarm, just press the hang-up button (red button). Really only a small problem.

This phone is TERRIBLE! DO NOT BUY IT!!!... less than 4 weeks after buying this phone, i had to get it exchanged becuase the screen kept turning off while i was actually using it, like while i am actually pressing keys. As well as this, it kept freezing... my replacement (of the same phone) still keeps freezing, it is clearly a design fault, i am now gettng a refund, and never buying an LG again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice little phone. Only complaint I have at this point is the annoyance of capital letters. Even after a fullstop, the phone wont capitalise the following word. If I want to use a capital I have to switch from 'abc' to 'ABC' and then I have to cycle back to 'abc' for the next letter. Its irritating, but if theres a button to capitalise your next letter, or the one you just wrote, I have yet to find it.

i got this phone a month ago and i cant set up mms because telstra(my phone carrior) says that it is unavailable but i live in a telstra covered area and i tried 2 set up my friends phone woh is on the same carrior and it doesnt work either Please Help!

Uh, i got this phone 1 month ago, but my mms doesnt work and when i ring telstra(my phone carrior) it says the network is unavailable. I did this with my firends phone who has also got a mms phone but hasnt set it up and it didnt work either Please help!

to the poster before me, reason it goes blank is probably cus u set the alarm and stopped it by pressing the top left hand soft key. To cancel an alarm, press the hangup button, i dont kno the reason why it goes blank, but thats how i 'fix' the problem

I bought the phone 2 months ago, and now for no consistent reason, the screen dims then goes blank when I am texting. If considering buying an LG phone - DON'T.

My screen only goes blank after putting the alarm on, when the alarn goes off your first instinct is to press the top left hot key (stop). Dont do this, to cancel the alarm just press the hangup button (on/off button) to stop the alarm...
If your screen goes blank because of something else other than the alarm, then i cant help you, but i reckon it is the same problem as i had, just do what i said ;)

Hey i got this phone 2 months ago... it was really good until ti started screwing up n the screen went totally blank all the time...its happened to a few of my friends too.....its a gr8 phone as far as functions and everything goes...but yer mine stuffed up big time....
