I use the LGMobile Support Tool on my PC. It connects to the internet and checks for updates. I had earlier installed the v30a which I had got from xda developers. Yesterday, the Support tool flashed a message that an update to my phone was available. I connected my phone after installing usb drivers and the tool checked and found v30a ICS on my phone and said an update in the form of v30b was available. The download and update took about 1 hr 45 minutes. No data got deleted. Though I had to root the phone again and install CWM.

In India , Device country is showing as America and NO updates available.

.avi .mp4 .mkv etc. if you install the free BSPlayer app, or the VLC-Videolan app.
Also via HDMI.

I have updated my 2X to ICS and it looks nice. Unfortunately LG did poor job with this update. The phone freezes from time to time and there is a problem with the WiFi that drains battery in hours
