I tried without success to upgrade to ICS 4.0...I ended up ruining my phone in the process. Please change your specs on this phone that it says it is NOT upgradeable! Also there are dangers going to the site to do it...my phone is ruined.

I hated LG too much because of this handset, it took years for the gingerbread update and now its ics wouldn't come here in our place, says gb is the latest version for my phone. It wasn't very excellent on gingerbread neither.
It was decently performing but when I chose it over galaxy s2 I felt like I was cheated coz the s2 had jellybean and all the goodies coming in its way.
However it was time that I had to move on and I rooted it and installed a custom made jellybean ROM, (ParanoidAndroid, that is) and all the hatred had come away. LOL
Phone's benchmark tests significantly improved, so is it's performance. Extremely smooth and game performance has improved a big lot. Latest features like google now, new notifs center and multitasking. Everything's so good and new and fast, I felt that I could keep this phone for a while and enjoy jellybean without getting another phone.
Give it a shot guys it's very worth it. Tegra 2's fast enough.

This phone is a piece of work... nothing posotive i can say about it. The keyboard doesnt work half the time. (Yes it pops up and allows you to press the keys but it does not actually input any text what so ever) it doesnt make calls when i press the dial button it just crashes, so i re open the dialer and re input the number i wish to call. Then once the phones so called "dual processor" finally catches up with what im doing the screen goes black MID CALL and i have no choice but to remove the battery to get it going again (which, yes intails completely restarting my phone) at which point i would like to text the person to tell them my phone shut down and it was not me hanging up, then the LG optimus 2x will not input the text. It will not update ANYTHING, everytime i restart the phone it attempys to update my apps which all fail (due to error 498). over all i hate this brick but im stuck in a contract with fido

atlac, 25 Jun 2013yes it s available from LG update tool since dec 2012.its not working. Its saying device is at latest version.not able to update from 2.3 to 4.

This phone is great, everything is working just fine. excellent camera, easy typing, and it is fast. recommend

For all people with ICS problem, Go to XDA Developers's Optimus 2x forum - Andoid Developement. Download and install the ParanoidAndroid Rom as per the instructions in the forum and live in peace.
Need to root it before.

You should get your hands on cyanogenmod for this phone. Even the nightly versions of CM10.1 are much better then Stock ICS! http://www.cyanogenmod.org/devices/lg-o2x and http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#p990/cm10.1/next
