Hows the battery life?? Can any one tell me? and can anyone compare its battery life compared to nokia n85 or 5800 or n95 (just to understand the bettery duration)

i just bought one week ako,im so disapointed with the battery life,i charge 3 times a day!

read my coment carefully(not saying this rudely at all !!!)
and trust me i am carefull user and quite experinced too.
and modifying ur device or in ur terminology "messing" with the device is not bad unless,u know the remidies and fireback u gonna get through it and i am experienced enough to even unbrick my device and get it back to the stock stage on my own...so ur point of me being careless doesnt justifies it !!!

no doubt SGS is vry goo... moreI think because you probably didn't take good care of it or either messed about with it. All the specifications are excellent with a HD 1080p recording and 8mp camera. It's also got conferencing (inner camera) so you can chat with your friends and they can see you. It's a great phone. I've had it for over 6 weeks and I think it's better than the iPhone 3GS. (I mean as in the specifications.)
There probably is a fault with yours due to careless usage by the owner. I'm not trying to be rude, but just trying to make a point and a statement.

My Experience in battery life is
2 hours of gaming 10%
1 hour talk-time 15%
6 hours of music 5 %
I just cant say anything on a battery drain cuz i use it normally and its great, I have a small tip for new users.
Delete that Weather Widget, and Calendar widget, and install some from market, That stock draining it really much...

LG replied that it might be corrected by upcoming gingerbread firmware release. Dual core might not be fully optimized now but sure it is more future proof and the new sign up contract with google confirm that all partner have to keep their phone updated within 18 month of release, therefore you might even get a taste of android ice cream sandwhich. Samsung galaxy s will be out of the game when the world stepping into dual core era. It's up to you, you choice. for me, i choose LG.

480x800 pixels in 4.0 inches wtf????
Even its cpu n gpu are amazing still can't beat iphone 4 wit 640x960 pixels in 3.5 inches.....

no doubt SGS is vry good...i had it for almost a year !!
recently i trade it for LG O2X !!!
initially i was disspointed with this device.
but not anymore,aftr 2weeks of use and after doing few modifications through costm roms m 100% happy with it...few glitches are there but those cant be deal breaker over SGS.
and the biggest reason takin this device over SGS would be..."ITS A DUAL CORE PHONE" with better camera.
though,on a display level SGS stays unbeaten !!! but O2X's screen is good too...atleast it has an edge over the regulr LCDs on market.

Just to share my experience on battery life:
Spec: standyby up to 400h, talktime up to ~8h.
Reality: almost flat with 1h audio play and 3+hr standby. No talktime. Tried turn off update and auto sync but just a minor improvement. Go office at 8am with full charge and batt dead at 2pm.
Think to achieve anywhere close to the spec... unless turn the smart phone into a stupid dumb phone and use only for talk without any apps.
If I know, I wont buy it with such a short batt life for sensible use.
