DON'T BUY THIS PHONE.
I bought this phone and it is horrible
i regret buying it.
Super slow and takes like forever to open application and hangs with no reason.

Its not motherboard problem.. They're bluffing.. Its a problem with the ROM.. The service center itself will take care of upgrading it..

This phone has no USB tethering. Even samsung android 2.1 phone has USB tethering. It is very bad why LG forgot this. Also the network change over operation / networt selection is very slow compared to sony smart phone. please check if this happens only to me ( airtel ).
However i managed USB tethering using PDAnet but reverse USB tethering becomes impossible.
Atleast LG may consider this weakness and rectify in future updates. This is really a very important options for net users.

excellent handset! i've been using this for a couple of months now, and so far i never really had a problem with it. good for browsing and gamings, it connects fast to wifi. its just like you have a mini tablet. i love its 4 inch screen size and resolution, very good for gaming. video and cam is also good since it's an hd ready, i also love its sleek design, simple yet sophisticated. it is thin and very light. battery could last for 2 days, but for heavy browsing and gamings well it could only last for 5 hours, 6 hours the most. this is definitely worth buying.

My p970 is stuck at boot in the LG logo, it occurred after upgrading to 2.3 , Took to service center , they say it is a mother board problem , any body else having this problem? they say i have to wait until the spare come from Korea.. damn

Don't trust anyone who say LG is bad.. This phone has got the best hardware.. There were problems with the Gingerbread upgrade.. It is solved now.. This phone is still available.. Options for phones in this range is HTC Incredible S.. Go for LG Optimus Black if you want good camera and fast processor and gaming.. Go for Incredible S if you want good music, Beats Audio enhancement may be available after ICS update.. So music quality 0guaranteed in HTC.. Good service for HTC phones in India.. Build quality is awesome in any HTC.. But when you compare Black wit Incredible S, there is a good competition b/w the 2.. Camera is better in black than incredible S.. Its upto you, what factors are important to u.. Internet is fast in incredible S when you compare with Black..!!!

I am happy to use this phone. waiting for ICS update from LG. So far there is issue on this model when I use Skype video call front camera is not functioning.
It does not mean the camera is faulty. On yahoo & oovoo video calls, front cam is working fine.
Is anybody got same issue?
