Well its selling here for 19990 pesos or 470 US dollars. For a start up price its already cheap and it surely will drop further. For that price what do you all expect anyway? The specs of the Black does not compete with the SGS2, that is why the SGS2 is selling for 800 dollars or more.
You just cant compare the two. The Black is for those who want a simple phone. nothing fancy, if youre not a tech savy person, if youre not a camera bug or video shoot addict then this will do.
As long as it can call, text, MMS, and surf the web then its fine. If you compare it to the SGS2 then you must be nuts. Common sense it wont even compare, so stop saying that SGS2 is better.
Money does not fall from trees so its all up to the buyer. it all boils down to what you need the phone for and how much you are willing to spend. if you got tons of money then go ahead aim for the SGS2. so stop hitting the Black
all praises for the SGS2 but give the Black some slack. pricewise its legit and just right

P970 is pricy,around 27k, according to some Indian tech sites.Whereas Galaxy SL is about 19k or a little more.Also P970 is yet unavilable and is not even on the website of LG India.For features like 700 nits display,G button and a LED flash it easily beats Galaxy SL.

Here are some photos found on the web, for LG Optimus Black screen (compared to SAMSUNG Galaxy S / IPhone 4 also).
Like GSMARENA photos, we can easily notice highest brightness for LG Black.
Photo of girl: Fair colours with LG Black for face and white background, with extended brightness. The less realistic is SAMSUNG Galaxy S.
Photo of web page: Only LG Black display real whites, with good brightness. Galaxy S don't display white, but display a kind of blue/grey colour.

This phone fades in the shadow of galaxy s2 , it trumps most phones on market now. its not fair , apple and htc should make better phones , 1GB ram is now basic ...
Prices of smart-phones are now much higher than laptops these days

i already got one. its now available here in the philippines. it has an affordable price.. very worth it. i love the screen's brightness.. thank u lg for making this phone. the all black is awesome! the camera and ui interface is so amazing with its smooth transitions.. love this phone.
