it is a very good phone but with bad support from LG.
The ICS update is unavaillable. All lies from the beginning of the year until now. Only announcements.. nothing good comming.

Owned this unit for 7 months now, average camera, average video recording, playing Hd games lagged a lot. Now I'm using the zeus 7.03 custom rom + the LG 3.0 ui theme and my OB looks perfect. HD Games work flawlessly now, although I must say the lack of ICS on this device sucks. Thinking of getting an S2 but if I get a second battery I wouldn't upgrade.
As an entry level DROID, phone is perfect. But not good as a second or third DROID.

ive been using this fone for sometime and its great, HD video and clear mp3 bt the battrey finishes fast wen using the internet. all in all its a must have

i rooted my device with zeus rom v7.02 and its super awesome!!! i love my optimus black! it rocks! ^^ cool and sleek design with uni window look! :D

dude ...ur running froyo 2.2 on ur lg optimus black so u r gettin 1 2 3 4 tones ...upgrade ur phon to GB 2.3.4 so u will get off tone also it is rectified in GB update ....upgrade it u will get an off option also n many other improvemnts

LG OPTIMUS BLACK P970
It is in the class of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Wildfire but for only Ksh. 25,000. It is a must have for the dot com Kenyan lady because of its sleek features. The primary 5mp camera at the back and its 3G internet network does it for me in this gadget. Its scratch resistant screen is another highlight for me. Apart from the single core CPU this phone is worth every penny.

There should be a setting icon on the left side of the camera screen. There are actually five icons on that side. If they don't appear just touch the screen - they only appear for five seconds each time. Make sure you touch the part of the screen showing the image. These are the icons:
The first icon switches between front and rear camera
The second icon brings up a zoom bar
The third icon brings up a brightness control
The fourth icon brings up the flash controls
the fifth icon is CAMERA SETTINGS
The setting button is at the bottom. Tap it.
Next should appear a list of various camera settings - the list is like this:
Focus
Image size
Scene mode
ISO
White balance
Colour effect
Timer
Shot mode
Image quality
Auto review
Shutter sound
Tag location
Note that its a scrolling list - you can only see five options so you have to scroll down to the shutter sound option at the bottom. Tap that option and it will open five options on the right. These are:
Off
Tone 1
Tone 2
Tone 3
Tone 4
The default is set to Tone 1 - you just set it to Off.
If you have trouble post your email and I can send you screenshots.
