This phone is very good phone if you compare its performance .. processor is good. ram is good. it only lacks in camera and battery otherwise this is a nice phone. I am using it. It has a smooth touch.. awesome phone.

Are you sure it is upgradable to Android 4.0? The phone doesn't find the update.

For those who want to transform their optimus black into something spectacular, just root your phone with zeus rom v6.39 then use tsf 3d launcher,you'll see a new phone which is butter smooth and super cool! Try it guys! Cheers! ^^

For the one who have a slow Optimus black probably everybody
use another launcher like tw launcher or adw launcher
Or Root and flash the mobile with a good rom
That it wil be faster and more battery life

well...about 4 months it was an good phone, but now its really slow, and i have to use launchers to make this phone faster...but when i bought it, it was cheaper than samsung galaxy ace, so yea, it is cheap but lg UI really sucks and next phone that im gonna buy, is not going to be Lg

Why when i check for updates of my pone it displays model # 970 and v20c and the location is phils....i buy my pone here in KSA

Optimus black. Wow. What a phone. I upgraded it to gingerbread and it works better. High performance. More power optimization. More apps available. Mine is version 20 E gingerbread 2.3.4. Well i got a software(firmware updater) on the official site and the software itself search for the latest firmware. You need to put the phone in USB debugging mode in settings. I use Skype,go launcher,facebook,flashlight,twitter,speedometer,offline dictionaries,opera mini,equaliser,pencil sketch,gitabase,ES file explorer,hanuman for android,barcode scanner,talking santa,piano perfect,badoo,messenger,hi5,jimi guitar lite,tube downloader,ebay,flv video player,call blocker,fake call me,bluetooth file,periodic table and many other apps without problems including games.
I wish only if it were a dual core phone.
But I don't regret, it has a nice body, perfect look and is light in weight.
I bought it when it was new in market(it was expensive).
Through my experience, i didn't any phone that can compare with it(combining price,apps and characteristics).
Be sure to buy a new branded one.
