Using this Mobile for past 1 month...
Got this mobile after 2 months research and I feel happy that my research didnt fail !!
I got all what want in this mobile....
Here Im sharing my experience...
DISPLAY:
4" Nova Display for this price range. Looks pretty BIG. Too Bright but using full brightness indoors may reduce the black values... Auto Brightness in Power saving mode ll be better.
BATTERY:
read many negative comments on battery...
But battery is really good enough...
3 days for normal usage (1hr call, 1 hr music and in idle).
2 days for calls, musics and games (1hr each per day).
1 day if u use wifi !!
I made my 1st charge in switch off mode for 8hrs.
then im using the mobile unplugged until it drains upto 4 or 5 %. And Recharging again !
If mobile is idle 1% got reduced for every 4 hrs...
charging is fast. Reaches 4% to 100% in 1hr 30mins.
Compared to other android mobiles, LG Optimus Black battery is good in Battery...
Im not experiencing battery as a problem.
CAMERA:
2MP front facing camera. Great to pics of ur own !
5MP Camera, Video with flash, HD Recording. Really a great photography experience.
DESIGN & UI:
Neat and Sleek, really eye catchy...
Easy one touch shortcut icons and music player on top bar.
G button, helps to surf the webpages easily !!
3 types of menu screen (page, list, categories)
MUSIC:
Headphones Rocks, I read some comments Loudspeaker's volume is low. But I didnt feel so, Loudspeaker's volume is good.
More no of presets in equalizer
Dolby Mobile, give a live audio effect...
VIDEO:
Pretty Cool, Plays all divx, xvid formats,
But need to convert using the convert given by LG (converter is available in the given memory card)
RESPONSE:
Pretty fast response ever seen...
touch, slide, tilt, shake all the controls response rapidly...
CONNECTIVITY:
wifi - give the same experience as like we browse in computer (pretty fast)
calls - never got any problem in calls or network related connections. Signal bar is always full...
And voice clarity is awesome while calls.
BUGS & LAGS:
Experienced 3-4 times a small lags
Hanged for 2 times and back to normal in reboot.
Never got rebooted automatically...
NEGATIVES:
Plastic made. :(
Finger print magnet...
using a gel skin cover can solve this but makes mobile a bit thicker...
Great Phone for this price range
(I got this phone for INR 18,600/- in Pai Internationals with 1yr LG Warranty and theft insurance)
Again I can say Battery is not a problem for me !

I can strongly recommend u this Mobile if u are looking for a single core android mobile in this price range !

Dav, 19 Mar 2012My problem with this phone is, the battery can't last 4 lon... moreSamsung galaxy w is 1.4 GHz, LG p970 is 1 GHz..
But lg's screen is bigger and front camera is 2 mg.

I'm currently using lg optimus black. Its awesum man. The 2.3.4 upgrade is far betr dan 2.2.2. Nw i'm using dis cell very smoothly. I have few sugestions for lg.
1. Please introduce atleast one celphone wid super amoled display.
2. Please increase battery backup.
3. Please provide proper service to users.

You'll see the your default app launcher. Open that & you'll find a touch button "Clear Default". Click that & press the home button. Enjoy the flexibility !!!

u have the last update NO! Froio 2.2? but u can not make update where r u now *country* ? do u have new update in your country?!!!!??? a lot of mobile have update to 2.3.4 but not all the countries !!! i waith u answer back :) i will help u

hw do i upgrade to ginga bread? Tried ugrading, upgrade shows in my lg pc suite, bt anytime i click on update, it trys dwnloadin an lg upgrade software and my computer hangs...

hi guys!just had my phone upgraded to v 2.3.4, please help me to clear 'home launcher defaults'..the LG home 'clear defaults' is gryd out..already intstalled 'target home' frm android markt,didnt help either..:(

AnonD-48154, 27 Mar 2012can someone pls teach me how to update p970 to 2.3first of all install lg pc suite in your pc..now connect your optimus black through usb cable..your software will recognise your model as p970 and after synchronising ,, check for updates in the software..a new version of 2.3.4 will be available and follow the process of updation..its quite simple..itl guide you.. and if your internet connection is fast then itl all be over within an hour...so things to do before updation ,,ahh if though laptop then charge it fully before starting,,backup your contacts messages or watever through pc suite,,(actually everything was intact after updation for me),,and during updation there should be no disturbance to the process.... unmount sd card before updation..thats it...hope this helps..
