Iv had tjis phone since may 2014 for the first few months it ran really good but then started slowing down significantly. I would only recommend this phone as a temporary fix until you can get a better more reliable phone.

This is my first smartphone. It's nice to be able to look up something on web & does all basic stuff but not to same degree of other smartphones friends have. I have 1 game & 2 apps, memory is now all used up. Great battery life. If you want to have several apps, forget about this phone.

I also got my Virgin Mobil F3 working with saferoot. I had to leave the default install location remain internal otherwise I got errors. But after that installing/auto linking worked like a charm. Made a 1.90G ext4 partition on my SD card.

In case anyone is curious, the SAR rating for this phone, as listed in the manual for the T-Mobile US P659 version (GSM) is 1.16W/kg at the ear, 1.29W/kg on the body. Rather high given that the maximum allowable is by the FCC is 1.6W/kg.

Def a pain rooting this, tried various (Kingo, motochopper, etc) on XDA, haven't found anything yet that works for me, yet others have managed. VM provider if that matters. Regarding the phone itself it's nice and I like it, but the sd0 crap is a HUGE liability

BTW: It's "saferoot" not "easyroot" that's a whole other app. saferoot is what works.

First thing to do is root the phone. Search for easyroot from XDA. Turn on USB debugging, connect to your computer and run easyroot as admin. In about 2 minutes you will have a rooted F3 without having to flash a custom rom or anything risky. Second thing todo is open the play store and download 2 apps, "Link2sd" by Bulent Akpinar and "Folder Mount" by madmack. Then go buy a 64gig microSD HDXC and follow the guide on the link2sd website. You have to create 2 primary partitions. One for normal storage in fat32 and to other for apps, I found ext4 to work well. YMMV

Don't mess with any other app2sd stuff on the play store. Link2SD can move anything. You start with about 800mb of internal free. I installed over 60 apps and had 900mb free. Installed three Ivona voices. Only thing to watch out for is app cache size. Luckily link2sd can be set to clear the cache after it reaches a set size.
Folder Mount creates sys-links to folders on the SD card. Something you can't do without on this phone because of the stupid choice to mark the internal storage as sdcard0. This breaks apps that don't let you set a folder manually. So EVERYTHING goes to the internal storage with is only 1.2gig to start with and only 800 of that is free. Folder mount lets you move things to the real sd card. This also means the link2sd is the only app2sd app that works properly.

I paid for folder mount and I donated to link2sd. They are both wonderful apps and well worth it.

Now my F3 is a 64gig model. I know it says it only goes to 32gig SD cards but read people claiming it would take 64 and it does. I'm on android 4.1.2 if that makes any difference.
